the guess the movie and character thread

Postby rocklobster » Mon Apr 03, 2006 5:14 am

Okay, here's the deal. Post a quote from a movie and someone has to guess who said it and the movie it is from. The correct answer can be either the character or the actor/actress who played him her. For example, if I were to post "Never give up, never surrender", the answer would be Tim Allen in Galaxy Quest . I'll start us off:

"I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way."
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. I appointed you to be a prophet of all nations."
--Jeremiah 1:5

But it's Jessica Rabbit from Roger Rabbit. Man, that movie's old....

You find that you have a weapon, an instrument that
will give you power over the wind and sea.
In one word, you can stop time. It is a weapon
so powerful that even God will bow
down to you and all his angels fall at your feet.
What would you do with it?

It seemed to me that this thread fit better in general entertainment.

And MelodyMaker's got me stumped.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I'm guessing....one of the two Spider-Man movies?
The following post has been MPX42's two cents.Strangly, after every single post he does,he gives two cents to random people. :hits_self

It's reported that 98% of the population has been roundhouse kicked by Chuck Norris at least once in their lives. If you're among the 2% that haven't,copy and paste this in your sig.

Aww... surely you guys know one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's famous quotes? Okay, it's from Total Recall and though I've not seen the whole movie, I did see that part of it once when my parents were watching it and thought it was cute.

On a side note, I'm stumped with Tom's quote. (Hey, that rhymes. ^_^ )

Hmm... I was thinking "Lain" actually... But we're most likely talking "non-anime" here, so nevermind...

"Watch out. My brother's about to transform into the Indian version of M.C. Hammer." - I have NO idea where this came from...

How about "Have the courage to fail big and stick around. Make ’em wonder why you’re still smiling" (I can't remember the exact quote, and I got this off a review site, so they may have paraphrased it)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcNPfZlrZs Watch this movie なう。 It's legal, free... And it's more than its premise. It's not saying Fast Food is good food. Just watch it.
