think of Radical Dreamers as an alternate storyline. The plan was originally to make more Super Famicom games but then the PS1 came out and the plans were dropped as Square seperated from Nintendo.

Oh, if only I could find a place where I could download that game...I've read the game script, and, with CT and CC being two of my all time favorite games, I was practically drooling the entire time...Ha! Every time I play Chrono Cross with the character Guile in tow, I always re-name him Magil, after the character in Radical Dreamers. Seriously, think: He's got long, silvery hair, and he's got a mask, just like Magil did in RD. Personally, I think Magus, Magil, and Guile are all really the same person, because... *SPOILERS BELOW THIS POINT--I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE THE HIDE TEXT!! O.O*

In CC, if you choose to save Kid after she's gone into a coma, Luccia gives you a letter. The letter states that Janus (Shcala's younger brother in CT, who we later find is Magus. If you've completed the game (CC), you'll know that Kid is Schala's clone.) has been looking for her, and could be standing next to her, even! Granted, this could mean anyone, but since Guile is so similar to Magil and Magus, and since Magil's name in RD is sometimes translated as Gil, it makes the most sense to me that Magil, Guile, and Magus are all the same person.

*END SPOILER*

Hey now, no blaming me if you read that! ^_^ I gave ya fair warning, mates. XD Anyways, I love how the two games CT and CC intertwine. What seems like a relatively small plotline (and character) in CT turns up as a huge plotline in CC...I just wish that Glenn of CC and Frog/Glenn of CT were the same...That would be amazing!!! *thinks Frog is the most awesome videogame character ever, hence the quote in her sig* Hey, Glenn and Serge can do the "X-Slash" attack in CC just like Crono and Frog can in CT, sooo...XD

Magil and Magus are the same but Guille is out on his own. Yes, I just started CC and he`s in my party so i didn`t read the spoiler. I`d tell you how spoiler tags work, but I`m in a huge hurry to get off right now to work on my research report.
I read somewhere that kid is Schala. I read in CC, that Schala dies. Are these things both corrective, incorrective, or is one right?
If you read the script to RD, you should be aware that Magil removes his mask to reveal Magus. Guille isn`t Magus, and looks more like Ansem from Kingdom Hearts witha white Mask. I never considered him being anything like Magus till i saw the way he walked behind you.

Yup, the spoiler you posted was right. Schala makes a clone of herself before she dies. Even though you never see her die...I'll say no more here, since I don't want to spoil anything for those who don't know. ^_^

Muahahaha!!! I have just read an interview with the makers of CT/CC, and they said that originally, Magus, Magil, and Guile were supposed to be the same person!! ^_^ They decided; however, to take a different path, since they...forget it, here's the article.

^_^ <-- Is excited by this info

Questions for Director/Scenario Writer Masato Kato
Is there any connection between Guile in CC and Magus in CT? Both use black magic, have purple hair, and float. The only difference that I can tell is their dress and the fact that Guile uses a staff. I was thinking that they could both be different adult versions of Janus (from CT). Of course, it's been a while since playing CC, so I could be totally wrong. There are some other character connections (I.E. Frog and Glenn) but Guile and Magus raises the most questions. Thanks for the great game.

Freight Train big_luggage@yahoo.com

Masato Kato: To let the cat out of the bag, in the early stages of development, Guile was indeed meant to be Magus. In our original plan, the true identity of Guile was supposed to be Magus after the events in Trigger. (At the end of Trigger, Magus [a.k.a. Janus in Trigger and Magil in Radical Dreamers] disappeared into a Time Gate to go searching for his big sister, Schala, who was lost somewhere in time.) However, as the game's development progressed and we decided to use such a huge number of playable characters, we decided not to make him be Magus. We thought it was impossible to portray the relationship between Magus and Schala adequately in this game. So we changed tracks, made the colors of the Magus character design paler, and turned him into Guile, the magician. In a way, it's a pity, as I really would like to have seen the valiant figure of Magus come to life again.

And so, we were technically all right. He was intended to be Magus, but in the end, he wasn't. Here's the link to the interview, so you don't think I made all of that up or something...XD

http://www.chronocompendium.com/wiki/index.php?title=GamePro_Interview

It actually answers quite a few questions, including questions pertaining to Chronopoilis and Terra Tower. Enjoy!

the orginal chrono trigger is considered to be the best out of the chrono trilogy and is one of my favorite games of all time. I have yet to play chrono cross or radical dreamers yet though.

CT was truly a masterpiece!! I absolutely love it. I've played through it about 14 times, and it just never gets old. But you should DEFINITLY check out Chrono Cross, it's another one of my favorites. As for Radical Dreamers, I'm not one of the priveleged few who has played it, but I have read the script. I actually found a place where I can download the ROM for it, I just need to find another SNES emulator. So if you know of any good places to download emulators, please say so! I would GREATLY appreciate it! ^_^v

I agree with Kaoru, I think having such a large number of characters in Chrono Cross was a definite downside. There were 42 playable characters in the game. Some of which served almost no purpose and had no definable personalities...such as Janice the bunny woman and Leah the cavegirl.

Personally, I wish they had kept the number of characters to a minimum and fleshed the playable ones out a bit more...and I wish they had been able to keep Magus in the game as well. Considering the entire game is more or less about his sister, it would've been very appropriate to have him there.

Fun fact: Aside from the character that has the same name as him, Glenn (Frog) is the only Chrono Trigger character never mentioned in Cross.

Lucia isn't much like Lucca, except for being a scientist (Lucia is a bad scientist, sorta) Glenn isn't frog, but I'm still not convinced that Guile isn't Magus... The dark magic, the cats, and a couple other things make it too convenient... That, and the other game... The radical dreamers thing... Yeah, I still believe he's Magus...

-Ressurects Thread.-

Just beat Chrono Trigger so i thought i`d share my thoughts on the game.

Storyline 7.5/10
I have to admit most RPGs have much more broad storrylines but this is SNES and for SNES this storyline is superb.

Battle System 8/10
Like FF but MUCH better. Double and Triple Techs rock my socks. `Cept The Maximum Hit Points and Magic Points is too little an amount for me.

Characters 10/10
Perfect amount, perfect personalities. My Fave? Lucca is my second, the rest are tied for first.

Graphics 3/10
I`d give it an "8" for 1995`s standards but this isn`t 1995, it`s 2005. For SNES, pure gold.

Questions On Closing FMV
Was the baby Lucca picked up Kid or Serge? That has been a heated debate lately. they added the baby cuz the PS1 remake came out after Chrono Cross. The only reason, I consider it a remake is because it had added features or basically a re-release with bonus features.

I read somewhere about Guardia being destroyed by either Magus or Porre. Does Crono die in it as well as Marle?

And the guy with green hair at the castle was Glenn (Frog) right?
I always thought it would be cool if an anime series was released on cartoon network or something that follows the events of Chrono Trigger. I mean it, I don`t know anyone that has played Chrono Trigger personally or even heard of it for that matter, so if it was released as a cartoon in CN gfor kids like DBZ this generation of children will undoubtably be wearing Chrono Trigger T-Shirts and try to locate the SNES classic, and Square will be forced to make a remake. Would this revive the popularity of Chrono Trigger?
The baby is Kid...*no brainer* Serge was Marge and Wazuki's child. Lucca took Kid in and began an orphanage, hence the reason Kid calls Lucca "Sis." And yeah, Glenn/Frog is the guy with the green hair.
The only thing that's going to be close enough to an anime is the cutscenes...It works for me! ^_^

Anyways, you don't have to go to the Hydra Marshes...It's actually better not to, because you get Glenn in your party if you don't...(Kid survives either way). But, since you did, I reccomend using Aero Blast on the Hydra. It's should be the strongest attack in your arsenal at the moment, so put it to good use! Who are you using as party members? It helps to have a green innate with you...A LOT. So yeah, my suggestions on the matter. ^_^
