I use to be a subscriber to Nintendo Power (free t-shirts), Game Informer (free after buying used games at Gamestop), and the Official X-box Magazine (demos). Nowadays, I could care less about the magazines, because the online sites, namely Gamespot, offer higher quality reviews.

Anyways, for old time sake, I'll vote Nintendo Power, because I was a subscriber from issue 72 to 190. Yeah, I didn’t put much trust in their reviews, but the walkthroughs were sometimes helpful.

Least favorite was Game Informer. They are a bunch of amateurs, in my humble opinion. Example: they gave Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door a score in the 6 range with a review that gave me a clear impression they didn't play through the game. Not to mention, they gave Paper Mario 64 a greatest game of all time spot a couple of months before. Unacceptable.

The person who gave paper mario the thousand room door the greatest game of all time spot was probably a reader. Thats usually who the ppl are that give those out. I would have to say my favorite magazine is GI. Ive gotten it for quite a while and while i dont always aggree with their reviews I still like them quite a bit. They dont seem like amateurs to me.

I was a fan of EGM, but they're so ridiculously liberal, and they cop-out frequently.

Look at their reviews of San Andreas and HALO2. Instead of making one side mad (They'd rather bash Nintendo fans), they gave both games straight 10s in the same issue. Neither game deserved straight 10s.

Also, their constant subtle political rants are tiring. Now, I'm not coming out in support for either side, but you can find something anti-Bush in every issue. I buy the magazine to read about games, not to hear what you think about politics. -_-'

I stick to online info, since I can get it daily. http://www.gamespot.com is my source.

Yeah EGM was cool.

Its not wourth the extra buck for the Mega 64 disk.

Playstation Mag gets my vote. Ever since PS Underground, the've done some good in the world.

My wife used to be the account executive for PSM's news stand sales. So I guess I am byes. (It was cool getting all my video game stuff for free ^_^).

I also used to read Next-Gen before they went under.

Now, I would have to side with LA. I really dont need to read magazines to get any info that isnt available online.

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

OPM will always be the best in my opinion. I've been a subscriber since like issue twenty something. They had the most objective, funniest, and most interesting staff on any game related magazine. And their magazine is always loaded with info and covers a broad range of game related things. I mean really OPM is almost the size of huge magazines like Entertainment or Vogue. And I love the small snippits on anime, movie reviews, and entertainment.

The best issues were back when they had John Davidson, Todd Zuniga, Sam Kennedy, C-Bake, and Gary Steinman. How else could I remember those guys names if they weren't that funny.:P Man I seriously cracked up with every issue I read. Too bad they all left and Rybicki's the only guy that's been there for longer a year or two. It's still my favorite magazine and way above the rest, but it's just not as good as it was without those guys.

I also used to subscribe to Nintendo Power for the longest time but I can barely remember much about it, as I was pretty young. I still subscribe to PC Gamer which comes in behind OPM and they're really similar in style. And I subscribe to OXM but I've only had it for three months.

Hey guys, I actually made this thread to come up with gaming magazines that I had not listed so that I could make a good poll. But I kinda like the discussion that It has brought up, nevertheless I am going to make a poll about the best vg mag.

Gamepro was cool...then again I got it for free when a friend got me a subscription..so free stuff always rocks. OPM always bugged me because they were really biased on stuff.

I had EGM for awhile, but I go with Impact on it. I get NP now, I plan to stick with since I'm such a huge Nintendo fanatic. Of course, I like to know what's going on in the "outside world", but I just use something like Gamespot or info from my friends.

Would you care to give an example because I rarely found any bias in that magazine.

i despise Nintendo Power... reading parts of it make me sick

Because there are those times what are REALLY "n00bish" and kids going like "IS THE THOUSAND YEAR DOOR A RUMOR???" and ugh it bothers me

PC Gamer is awesome

there is also GMR... which is.... okay

GMR=RIP
I had a subscription with the EB games discount card and got the last issue a couple of months ago. I thought they were pretty good, well rounded, covering all the systems equally, instead of completely ignoring Nintendo like everyone else seems to. (Right now, all I have is a 'Cube, so that is what I am looking for in a magazine)

GMR and GamePro are the most reliable.

I`d have Nintendo Power but I don`t own any Nintendo Systems besides GBA. My first system was a NES, but I sold it to get a Sega Genesis then sold that to get a PS1.

I hope Nintendo5 alows you to play games from NES and SNES or are they gonna use tiny discs again?
