Hey all,

It's great to have found an anime forum devoted to those who love Jesus. My little cousin, Wild Eagle, directed me here. I browsed around for a while and I must say, the atmosphere seems very friendly and welcoming.

I look forward to spending a lot of time here and calling you all my friends :thumb:

Hey Lightstream! I suppose this is where I "formally" introduce you to CAA! Have fun and enjoy your stay and I hope to have "heated discussions" with you about various topics dealing with anime...not that we can't do that at home but yeah. I'll see you on the boards!

Hey Wild! I taped them, but I haven't watched them yet. I'll probably watch them some time today, but if you get to come over later we can watch them together.

edit: Wonder why my sig didn't show up in this post.

So, tell us a little about yourself and some of your favourite series.

Well, I'm originally from India, but spent a significant portion of my life in Kuwait. Migrated to Canada almost 10 years ago. I was brought up in a loving Christian family, and strive to grow closer to the Lord as time goes by.

I recall watching a few anime series as a kid, such as one called Gigi back in the late 1980s, although I don't recall much of it. And back then, I didn't even know it was a Japanese cartoon. But it wasn't until Robotech that my interest was piqued.

*SPOILER ALERT* (although mostly in the form of how I felt about the way a certain series or movie ended)

I probably haven't watched as many anime series or movies as most anime fans, so I feel quite silly mentioning my list of favourites, but here it is anyway  ...Inu Yasha is my current favourite, although I don't think I'm anywhere near the end yet. Cowboy Bebop comes in second; if it didn't have a sad ending, it would probably have taken first place. I suppose that's what's special about it, though. Back in high school, I liked Pokemon quite a lot. The Robotech series and Dragonball Z are up there as well. Gundam Wing was great, but in my opinion, it could have been better. Gundam SEED has the potential to be better than Gundam Wing. The animation is certainly more advanced, although it remains to be seen how the story progresses past where I currently am.

I'm enjoying Witch Hunter Robin so far; some of the episodes are quite thrilling. I downloaded the entire Chobits series a few years ago and watched the first 9 episodes. They were absolutely hilarious, although it gets minus points for having a few perverse elements. I didn't have episode 10, and thus refrained from going any further lest I missed out on anything important. Unfortunately, circumstances forced me to format not long after, and I never got to watch the rest of the series. And finally, Last Exile is promising, although I'm only around episode 14.

As for movies, the Cowboy Bebop movie was well made, although since it's set somewhere during the series timeline, it doesn't really provide any comfort for those who aren't exactly thrilled with the way things ended  I've watched Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, and Grave of the Fireflies as well. They were certainly good, but I can't say I enjoyed them as much as many other people. The latter, especially, was very tragic. No matter how good a movie is, it's not going to make it to the top of my personal fave lists if it has a sad ending. I would certainly recommend it to others though. Gundam Wing Endless Waltz was a satisfactory conclusion to the GW series, but they really should have written the "upgraded" mechs into the story, instead of just transforming them and forcing us to pretend that they were that way all along. And finally, Wild Eagle and I watched the last Kenshin movie a few months ago. Again, tragic, and certainly not a good way to get your first taste of Kenshin :hits_self:

Well anyway, I don't want to bore people anymore, this post is way too long

Greetings, Lightstream. Welcome to CAA.
In order to make you feel welcome, I will procede to shove snack cakes down your throat. *...* Did I just say that out loud?? what I meant was...have some snack cakes if you like. ^_^ lol.

Enjoy your stay here. I'll see you around the boards.
Goodness, Wild Eagle, you seem to know a lot of people! lol.
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!

mmm, cakes taste so much better when they're shoved down your throat. Gotta try this more often!

And thank you for the fruit basket, dreamhacker! *places it at the center of the dining table*

A word of warning: Wild Eagle used to attend a Christian school in which pretty much everyone was an anime fan. Better watch it, or very soon you're going to have another 300 people flooding this board!
