To all you people who want to read my web comic I thought I'd post a thread here on it. It isn't the whole page type thing like Kingdom Come, that by the way is beautifully done and I recommend checking it out. This is my comic. It's called To Be Cont... It is in strip form. It takes place in a town called crimson and this boy Mark who is a guy looking to hook up with a girl, runs into one literally (classic girl/guy manga) Anyway you have one count them one, not eight girls tying to get with him. He does have friends who are guys and girls. Some of them have BF or GF. So this I hope tends to resemble real life and not some sudden warped fantasy. In this first comic there isn't a great deal of spirituallity, You know he does believe in God and I haven't developed that yet, I want a secular and a Christian fan base before I introduce content about a deeper theological thought. He goes to a church called Not Your Curch. Just so no one gets mad, and people still will. (side note I was wearing a T-shirt last night at work that had Jesus on it and a girl asked me if I was a Bible thumper. What is that?) Anyway Due to school I don't always get to post everyday so maybe every two days check in on it. My friend Kent is doing the other comic called PUCK which is an akranim (sp) for something like personified unkown college kampus or something ask him in a forum. His comic will at times be a stretch to read, however he's a catholic who loves to make fun of his own religion. He's a good natured guy. Any way heres the link to the site and the first comic. Yeah I have wow you think you can draw and then you try to do a comic, thats an Eye opener, I've never been so humbled in my life. Well it's been a great learning experiance. I look forward to becoming even better as I continue. THank you for your comment.

Hey Chapel, nice to have you onboard!

I see what you mean by inking. hehe you definitely use bold lines for your works and I can't wait to play around with inking. Do allow me to provide constructive criticism. You have a distinct and unique style (so do keep it!) and the idea is fine.

Only one thing, I got confused with the panels where your character hits himself (3rd to 6th panel). Which part comes first...is it horizontally or vertically? I'm assuming horizontally, so I suggest indicating a separation between the upper and lower panels to make it more clear. Apart from that, it's great and I'll be checking your other works soon!

yeah they become less cluttered as they go, that was mostly because my brother was writting for me and there was so much text and no room for it. So yeah it will be a horizontal way to look on that first one. As the comic goes less and less confusion.

I like your comic. It's funny and I think you're a pretty good artist. I'll probably be checking on it every so often, just to see what new stuff you've done. I like how different it is, too. Great!

New stuff will hopefully include an Art gallary thats next on our list of To Do's and I've got alot of great drawings to put in there. I am pleased that you like my comic, and I hope more will come to enjoy it's interesting antics. For now I've got about two months worth done which is good that will put me up and almost through school. THen in the summer I'll be able to work on them religiously. TeeHee. Well that's all from me. I finished my 25 page paper I should be able to go back to posting on schedual. A 25 page paper about the exagetical study of the divorce passages in the Bible gag, well I definately know what the bible has to say on the subject if anyone wants to know. Other than that check out the site, it is getting more hits, more fans, and I'm enjoying reading peoples, reactions to the comic.

Hey all of you who read my comic. First off thank you for the support. Well we have a few new installments at ww.theflamingcat.com one is the FAN ART page. THe other is the GALLERY. I have already loaded up the gallery with some pictures. I apologize if someone is offended by some of them being too racey. I tried to keep them all decent and so there is nothing more than cheesecake in this sight. Nothing more than swimsuit or underware. All are clothed. Anyway thats not the point. It's art in the end. Mainly come see and enjoy. I want this to be view and loved by as many friends as I have and as many friends as my friends have. I do consider you a group of my peers and friends at that. We had it designed that way so it is easier for us to upload comics by ourselves. But tell me if there is anything you think I might be able to improve I'm always open for suggestion.

Wow encouragement like that really strengthens your resolve to do your best. Yeah so my store has been upgraded I went back rescanned my art higher quality and touched it all up. It looks really nice now and I'm impressed with the end result. The prices are kinda steep, then again I basiacally get no cash from this so its about getting my products out there so people can see em. Once again thanks knives and keep reading everyone.

Ok my manga is about people I know basically and some I have made up. It is a reality mocking strip. So when you see Christians in the strip they act like most christians do in real life. I'm not going to portray them as always doing the right thing. In fact there is a bit coming up where they all go out to the beach and there is also alchohal involved. Am I promoting this behavior, certainly not. Is this what can happen? Most assurably for Christians the pressure to sin is almost greater. We want to fit in just as bad as everyone else. Especially in a syncratistic world like we live in. Some Christians don't see the wrong in over indulgance. The main character is based off myself. He will drink, however not in excesse. During the camping trip we somehow manage to grab a goth kid and bring him along. On the way home we find out he is a wiccan and he finds out we were all Christians. He is surprised that we were all drinking and carring on like we did. And brings it up. Needless to say this throughs us for a loop. After we drop him off it is said "wow! It really takes a non- believer to point out your sins or what your doing wrong" Something like that. Anyway I am trying to catch the reality of being a christian, it isn't all Jesus this and Jesus that. It can be really hard and I'll deal with all kinds of issues one of my charcters will drink alot I'll have a special story line dealing with that problem, Lust will enter into it, cussing and put downs, as well as theft and cheating, and a loss of belief with out turning back. The truth of the matter isn't how good we are it's salvation and the forgiveness. I'll deal with these issues as well. However it is hard to convey this message some times. So I just wanted you all to know that I was not indorcing sin I am just trying to depict reality. Brothers and sisters you all know it's hard out there and I just want to show others what it is like from a Christian point of view. This comic used to be called "My life" so these are issues I've delt with myself. In fact I have walked this road. The road to redemption is narrow and hard to tread. I'm still stumbling and falling but it is that reality that makes my comic believable. (Most of it LOL) I just wanted you all to know where I was coming from and where I was going.

So I have been immortality in publication through K-state's UPDATE magazine. This is a magazine that only goes out to K-state journalism alumni and they interviewed me in it. The spread and pictures looked really good and I liked the quotes that people gave. If you want to read it go to The flamingcat forum, find TBC and inside TBC look for the forum topic marked I was interviewed and had a two page spread in a magazine.
