Owl City

Owl City considers itself a Christian band, yet I'm not finding that in the lyrics. Does Owl City have any worship/praise songs? I'd love to hear those. Also, do you see any symbolism in the songs? I think there is but I can't find it, specifically in the song Fireflies. Thanks amd God bless.

No they don't in music now a days you don't need to sing worship songs to be a christian band. They are simply Christians in a band
Follow and suggest movies.

i LOVE Owl City. that's my favorite band. Owl City has one member. Adam Young. i have a LOT of respect for adam young. he is a christian and is rather open about it in his blog and interviews and stuff. it is shown in the lyrics of: galaxies, angels, meteor shower, and maybe a few more. all of his lyrics are G-rated. and he did a cover of the song "in christ alone" which was never on a cd but he put it on his blog and it can be found on youtube. and the song fireflies is about insomnia, that's all.

I don't know what you're talking about.
lines from Owl City's Galaxies wrote: Dear God, I was terribly lost
When the galaxies crossed
And the sun went dark.
But dear God, You're the only North Star
I would follow this far.

Also yes, check out Adam Young's blog: http://www.owlcityblog.com/
You don't have to have outright "Christian" lyrics in your songs in order to be a christian musician. In fact, because Owl City doesn't have outright "christian" lyrics in his songs, he has a larger fan base to impact positively.

for example. he's toured in china, and other places where outright christian bands would have a hard time playing.

U2 has Christians in the band, but they aren't considered Christian rock. However, they have occasionally thrown in Christian themes into their songs. Same thing with Owl City.

I seriously love their song Take To the Sky. That was a perfect fit for the movie Legend of the Guardians.

I love owl city's song "when can I see you again"; then it was in a movie "Wreck-it Ralph", which I also love! Awesomeness!

We need more worship songs with growling guitars, harsh pop, and sweet techno. Way too many slow stuff.
