First post, hello world!

Postby solidray2002 » Sat Apr 09, 2011 9:01 am

Well, time to introduce myself...us. Me and my wife have been coming to CAA for a while now, reading reviews to prevent us from spending hours in an anime we wouldn't enjoy or approve of from material. Now decided to join so we can actually have conversations with people now. So here is about us.
My wife and I are missionaries, we will be doing church planting in countries that are unreached. My family is from Portugal, so we are actually going to be going there first and spend a few years, then see where God takes us. We are in the fund-raising stage now...very long and often disappointing, but trusting God to provide.
My wife and I just randomly started getting into anime recently. We've enjoyed it because they sometimes offer good and engaging stories. She especially has loved Full metal Alchemist, death note and black butler. Now trying to find one again she will enjoy. I'll watch anything, just enjoy chilling with her and watching something if she likes it. Well that is about us...well a tiny bit about us atleast!

Now just go there for holiday with family every few years but haven't been to anywhere else much in south america except for colombia, i would love to explore it more, who knows what God has planned for us.

What other countries have you been to as well?

Welcome, nice to meet you, warm welcome. Questions? Just ask, we'd be more than delighted to help.

Also, I live in Canada, did you come for outreach and missions or just for being over?
And this I pray, that your love would abound still, more and more with real knowledge and all discernment. Be prepared to preach the gospel at a moment's notice. Do you know the gospel well enough to do so yourself? Be ready.

Actually Canada was the one place I went to not for mission work! I lived in Bemidji minnesota for a year and crossed the border with some friends, went to see a school mates home (Emo Canada) then came back after the weekend. Went a couple different weekends there.

I do have one question though. I attempted going to the CHAT feature of CAA, and it said I am an unverified user. I understand it takes time to become verified and mentioned "make some friends" I tried searching what that meant on some forums but not a clear answer yet. Does that mean adding friends like on Facebook? or more just make some posts, hang around a while and soon I will be given privileges? (I fully understand and agree with why they have made the system so)

You just need a small number of posts, I think 25, to enter chat.

Anyway, welcome to CAA, Ray! (Mind if I call you that?) If you have any other questions, please ask. We'll be glad to help.

Greetings from the Neighborhood Wolf! o.o/)))

I love hearing missionary stories. Being at a college that promotes cross-cultural ministries, I get to hear them from time to time....but it's always a blessing to hear how God's working outside of the US. :)

Will your wife be joining the site as well?

Welcome!!

You may enjoy Durarara!! That's a very engaging story. As for FMA, you should tell your wife to watch FMA: Brotherhood.
