Thanks all for the welcome!

My favorite anime is Serial Experiments Lain, but my favorite anime character is, uh... well, I'm really partial to Riza Hawkeye.

My favorite post-first-century theologian is, in modern terms, C.S. Lewis (He had the best societal outlook on things, and challenged a culture that was growing away from God).
Other than him, I suppose I would also be a fan of saint francis of asisi or Chesterton.

And nah, it wasn't inappropriate, dude - there are no inappropriate questions for me.

Welcome to CAA!! :]

How are you??
Did you have a good birthday this year (if you're birthday hasn't happen this year, then last year)??
What's 80 times 100??
What's your fave sport(s) to watch??
What's your fave sport(s) to play??
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. -I'm alright - a little ruffled because of a couple judgemental individuals, but okay nonetheless.
-no, my birthday last October sucked. I did get a couple good CD's, though...
-80x100=8000
-I'm not a sports guy, but I do like to watch hockey when I get the chance.
-If Dungeons and Dragons count as a sport, or if Magic the Gathering counts, then I'm all into that :D

Were it not for something that happened to my leg as a child I wanted to go into the military, specifically as a Submariner (or a pilot in the Navy or Airforce, but mostly as a Submariner). How's the work? Do you adjust well to the close quarters? How long are your trips?

Oh! Also, I'm a metal guy myself. What kind of stuff do you listen to? I'm mostly prog groups like Dream Theater and that sort of thing.

To Makachop;
Aye, I love the creepiness :D
-My favorite place? I would say that I really miss Oceanside, particularly when I could be at the beach, alone at night. Great moments spent there with God.
-My favorite music? I am torn between Christian black metal (bands like Antestor) and post metal (like Isis, Gannon, etc.).

To Etoh*the*Greatoh;
-Well, I haven't gotten to my first boat yet - I'm still in the enlisted navigation A school right now (we get orders next week!). But thus far, I would say that the whole experience is daunting, and a lot of work, but in the end is very rewarding. When I get to my first ship, remind me to answer your other questions, man!
-I listen to almost everything when it comes to metal. I love bands like Isis, but I'm not gonna ignore the awesomeness that was Immortal, Carcass, Death, or (early) Metallica, and Soundgarden was my favorite group for a long, long, long time.

I always liked how Dream Theater - especially their drummer. The man has a PhD in percussion!

My band :D

Hah! Awesome! Yeah, Portnoy is wicked awesome. He's finally been ranked as being as good a drummer as his hero, too! He started drumming because of Rush's Neil Pert (I know I mispelled that). The band itself is secular, but some of the best songs about God that I've heard have been on their albums, whether intentionally Christian or not.

You mention your speciality and it's funny. Navigation was something I wanted to do. I've got a pretty good mind for the stuff already. Like I said, my leg has been a major sticking point for any military service, though. Pre-emtive congrats on your first boat assignment!
