My little 6 year old cousin..

Postby Lil_Ninja » Mon Sep 14, 2009 2:35 pm

So, my six year old cousin Calvin has had heart problems since he was two.
He has an extra valve in his heart that doesn't let the blood flow normally or something, and it makes his heart go really fast (to 200 sometimes, or higher)

They tried doing surgery a couple weeks ago, even though they wanted to wait until he gained more weight (he's really skinny), and it failed.
And none of the meds are really helping anymore either.

The pharmacy gave him the wrong dose of medication after he got out of the hospital, and told him to take it three times a day (which he was only suppose to take once a day) and he was taking it for a week before they realized it was the wrong dose, and in that time, he was having episodes like fifteen times a day, and some were lasting really long.

So now he's back in the hospital because his heart went up to 200, and now it keeps going down to 50 because of the medication they're giving him.
When I talked to him on the phone the other day, he sounded reaally worn out and tired..

So, could you guys pray for my cousin? That the doctors will figure out what to do, and that Calvin's heart will hold out and whatnot.

Calvin is the cutest, sweetest little kid, I hate that he has to deal with this heart problem..

Alright thanks, will do ^^

I actually just found out they sent him home Friday, so yeah. His heartbeat is still at like 50 though.

I work with kids, so I hate to hear about stuff like this... I mean, more than I probably would if I didn't work with kids... I'll definitely keep him in my prayers.

Do not be overrighteous, neither be overwise—
why destroy yourself?

Do not be overwicked, and do not be a fool—
why die before your time?

It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other.
The man who fears God will avoid all extremes.
