Postby Kkun » Tue Feb 17, 2009 4:39 pm

Has anyone else picked this up?

Is anyone else going to pick this up?

It spits hot fire.

I was reticent about it at first, but man, this thing is REALLY GOOD. I mean really, REALLY GOOD. I mean...buenissimo. Delicious. It's Thursday doing what they do best. Someone please talk about this with me. : (

I don't know what it is exactly. Is it really that good?

It's amazing if you like Thursday. If you don't know Thursday, then it won't mean anything to you. : ( Or you could listen to them and find out.

its a bit too hard-rockish (hah, I love making up words!) for me. But, if you like it, I guess it could be that awesome.

I just got this yesterday, and well I'm liking it quite a bit so far. It really reminds me of "Full Collapse." Anyway, props to you Thursday, for being so groovetastic.

I love Thursday but their last CD was a bit disappointing.
From what I've heard, this looks promising.

I still need to pick it up.

A City By The Light Devided or Kill The House Lights?

Anyway this one's well worth picking up. It goes back to their roots.

Aw, A City By the Light Divided was awesome. It was just different. Kill the House Lights doesn't count because it's like a best-of/b-sides/retrospective/live album sort of deal.

I agree with you Kkun, on A City By The Light Devided. It was different, but totally rad.

It was good, but it wasn't "Thursday good".
And while I love the song "Counting 54321" it seemed as if it's only means of existence was to be a single, ala "When the Sun Sleeps" by Underoath.

From what I've heard of this CD, it'll be a Tommy favorite!

Yeah, but Counting 54321 wasn't the only song on the CD. I definitely agree it was there to be a single, but The Other Side of the Crash/Over and Out of Control, Sugar in the Sacrament, The Lovesong Writer, Telegraph Avenue Kisses, Into the Blinding Light, We Will Overcome, and even the instrumental track all outweigh the radio-friendliness of Counting. : (

That said, you should definitely get Common Existence. I've been spinning it almost nonstop since I got it. Any favorite tracks so far from people who have? I love Last Call, Time's Arrow, Circuits of Fever, Love Has Led Us Astray, and Beyond the Visible Spectrum.

It's been getting heavy play by me but I haven't decided on a favorite tracks quite yet...I'll have to put it on my iPod and listen to it on headphones...Than I'll know which ones are my favorite.

(Hey Kkun, my post count is finally above yours!!! I'm winning!!!)

I liked the CD.
It's just not as good as their first three, but I don't know anyone else that likes Waiting as much as I do.
The keyboards are cool though. I just didn't think the lyrics were as unique usual Thursday songs.

Bump: Got the CD.
It's great. Not my favorite, but definitely a great release.
I gotta groovy shirt too.

And I now realize after numerous listens, my least favorite Thursday album is War All the Time.

Except the song off Kill the House Lights, I think it's called "Ladies and Gentlemen: My Brother, the Failure" should be renamed "Ladies and Gentlemen: This song is Fail."

War All the Time is my favorite. XD

Oh well. No accounting for taste, I guess. I think that one has some of Geoff's best lyrics, though.

I'm really enjoying "You Were The Cancer."

Now that I have it on my iPod, I'll be able to give it the ultimate test "the headphone" test. Because I think that's what makes or breaks a CD...If it sounds good on headphones.
