Are you an item hoarder?

Have a video game or or VG review? This is the place to to discuss it! We also accept discussions of board games and the like, but SHHH! Don't tell anyone, OK?

While playing FF6 I think I hoarded items more than I ever have in any game. Most of the time I just didn't feel the need to use them, and by the time my characters would ever actually die or have a status effect, it was faster to heal them using a spell.

At some point with Shadow, I just started randomly chucking everything I could get my hands on. It was somewhat fun.

Meh, I'm not much of an item horder myself, although I like having alot of Hi-Potions, Mega Potions, and Phoenix Downs. Otherwise, I wouldn't go out of my way to get 99 of everything you can get.

On the other hand, I like money. Lots of it. If I don't have alot of money in my game, I would be frustrated......even though I never use the money....O_o

But it is better to be sorry than to be dead.

Sorry, I honestly felt I had to say this. Give me a second to think of something on topic so this post isn't worthless.

...in FFX I kept getting really close to 99 potions, so I'd use them to heal my characters. They barely helped, but I had 99 of them so it didn't matter. Actually, in that game, what I have too many of is Spheres. And that's annoying, though once you can use them for Aeons it's helpful.

Have you played Earthbound? Ever try to get the sword of kings? There's a one in one hundred and fifty chance that you'll get it each time you fight a krakken, and there are only 4 of them in the game... That mean you have to reset the game (or rather, put it in safe mode and shut it down) numerous times and try to fight the krakken's again until you get it... It's the only weapon that Poo can use (all other drop his stats) and it is the most sought after item in the game... Another more realistic weapon is the "Legendary Bat" which you have a 1 in 150 chance of getting every time you fight a "Star Man Super"

I counted how many I killed, and was shocked when it came to EXACTLY 150 before I got it... It was worth it. It's the second most powerful bat, and the one with the most accuracy (the Casey bat misses almost every time... When it connects, I believe it's the most powerful weapon in the game)

Not only that, but all that experience really helped me out! 150 starman supers really leveled me up... I just wish the fighting in Earthbound were more interesting, but then again, maybe not... Monotony I can close my eyes through is much better than monotony I have to pay attention to.

I'm a hoarder...I like to see 99 fill up my items inventory :p. I don't ever use them...Either that or I just forget I have them. Usually I'm levelled up enough to where I can just use magic to heal me. I use items as a last last resort :p. I just like to see 99 everywhere :p

I to hoard. I hoard items, but weapons are different. If it's not the biggest and best, I sell it. Items I hoard like crazy! I only use them if in great dire need. For example, in Legend of Dragoon, I would rather defend for ten minutes and heal up my characters through rest rather than use a potion (although I am full of items and carry anymore anyway)! That's bad. :)

Wow. That is much worse than me. I generally use items when I feel like it, I just can't help getting a unch of them.

You have no idea... My basement in Animal Crossing is practically stuffed with rare furniture, wallpaper, carpets and flooring that I can't bear to part with... not to mention all the rare fish and bugs I have down there! O.O Yeah, it gets scary- I sure hope my real house won't be like that when I grow up!

LOL Volt that's funny

( I laugh at my self for I require much attention and laughing at )

Hey don't worry about it. No one notices my clever comments (not that I make many of them).

...ah man! Now you've got me feeling guilty...

...anyway, I hoard Items but barely keep any weapons. Weapons only qualify to be kept if:

1.) Its the most powerful weapon for the character.
2.) I've got 2 or more weapons thats stats add up to pretty much the same but they'd be good in different situations (E.g sword with Str-10 Acc-1 and a sword with Str-1 Acc-10)

Yes, I generally sell all weapons I have no use for. Unless they're my strongest at the moment or have a special feature, I figure I might as well trade them in for cash... which I probably have too much of as well.

I think part of the fun in RPG's (atleast for me) is to try and find every little opertunity not to use items or spend money. I love stealing (in game only), and using magic to heal, then staying at the inn. Like in FF1, where what you pay at the Inn is based on how much HP you need restored. But if you heal all your party with magic, then stay, it costs you nothing and you get all your MP back.
Yah, stuff like that!!!^^

So I always end up with a trove of stuff. I guess thats why I get a little frustrated in games that have a limited quantity Item Bag. Why cant my hero toat around a warehouse of goods with him!?!?!?
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
