Sadly, Freddie Mercury died in 1991 from AIDS.

According to wikipedia: Widely considered as one of the greatest vocalists in popular music, Freddie Mercury possessed a very distinctive voice. Although his speaking voice naturally fell in the baritone range, his singing voice was that of a tenor. His recorded vocal range spanned nearly four octaves (falsetto included), with his lowest recorded note being the F below the bass clef and his highest recorded note being the D that lies almost four octaves above. In addition to vocal range, Mercury often delivered technically difficult songs in a powerful manner. However, due in part to the fact that he suffered from vocal nodules (for which he declined surgery), he would often lower the highest notes during many concerts. Mercury also claimed that he never had any formal vocal training.



He will be missed, one of the greatest singers of our time.

I love Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody (even if it doesn't make sense), and other songs.

Actually, the entire Innuendo album is excellent.

Indeed, I've got a soft spot for Queen. Ah the pomp and killer guitar bits. Freddie Mercury was definitely a one of a kind *nods*

And the Mercury/Bowie duet in Under Pressure = Rock geek heaven.

My earliest memory was watching Queen on the TV when they were number one with 'Bohemian Rhapsody' back in 1975 when I was almost three....(man I feel old!)

I love all of Queen's early stuff : Killer Queen, You're My Best Friend, Don't Stop Me Now, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Fat Bottomed Girls, Bohemian Rhapsody, Good Old Fashioned Loverboy, Seven Seas of Rhye, We Are The Champions and We Will Rock You.

As far as their later stuff goes I love It's A Kind of Magic , I Want To Break Free, One Vision and Who Wants To Live Forever.

Freddie was certainly one of a kind!

He will be missed, one of the greatest singers of our time.
