There are no more heroes any more they all died in the night that the world fell into darknes; and good men are trampled down into the dirt never to be seen again. This is the story of this world of ours the story of the corupt and those that would try to save it from them but become corupt themselfs from their own selfish greed and want for what they do not have.

Heh. I think I like this better than most of Weird Al's recent material.

It is? If so, interesting that he's getting into the online music trend with more than "Don't Download this Song."

My understanding is that it's official. If it isn't, the same video is available on his official myspace page so it doesn't make much difference nohow. Anyway, this is quite funny, I am looking forward to this album.

ROFL. That is hilarious. XD I think my favorite part was either the thing about quoting Monty Python and the Holy Grail and "making you R-O-T-F-L-O-L," or the Star Wars Kid parody. Oh my gosh, that was GREAT. XD I need to listen to it again; I'm sure there were lines that I missed.

As a side note, though, was that Seth Green near the beginning of the video, pointing to the action figures? It sure looked like him...

This is so awesome, because I identify with it infinitely more that the original (or rappers in general). Actually, I had to... search youtube to find what the original one was (because I hadn't heard it before...)

Ridin' Dirty is the original version. I don't know who wrote it. I don't like the real version, I like the Weird Al version.

According to Wrestlecrap, the Star Wars Holiday Special, which Weird Al purchases in this video, really does exist. And no Star Wars fan should see it. It is HORRIBLE!

Chamillionair or something like that is the original artist I believe. And I usually ALWAYS like weird als video better than the original but I like to check out the originals still cause it just seems to make Al's so much funnier\

EDIT: Oh yes, I've heard about the Star Wars Christmas special... George Lucas never wants to see it again and wants all copies in exsistance to be destroyed. I should check it out just to see how bad it is :P But I hear its extreamly hard to get a hold of but I'm sure you can find it online somewhere

This video and song is probably one of my favorites that Weird Al has EVER done. I loooove it. XD

Oh, by the way--not only is that Seth Green...the guy dancing behind Weird Al in some scenes? That's Donny Osmond. <3 That's my favorite part of the video, I think, is Donny Osmond white boy dancing to the song. XD

Donny Osmond was pretty random, so it succeeds as a humor device.

Those factors have made it achieve cult status, which is why it was so funny in the music video.

the first half is on google video. Just search for "star war holiday special"

BTW, i have the original script on my computer. The only good part is Boba Fett's introduction in the animated feature in the center of the movie. Since boba fett is da bomb,
(especially if you read the books, and find out he survived the sarlecc by blowing it up)
if you can find a copy of the SWHS, at least watch that part. :)

(i suppose i've proved my "white and nerdyness")

Had to bump after seeing it recently.

This is definetly my favorite of his songs since "Amish Paradise," I believe. If anything, just for all the references and how well he managed to fit them into the rap. It's another of those factors that makes me wonder just how "nerdy" he may really be (though I'm not a bit surprised if he is quite a bit; he often reminds me of my cousins, so I can see it pretty well XD ).

Right. I actually caught almost all of them (had to look up MC Escher to remember), and upon realizing this I simultaneously realized that this qualifies me as highly nerdy.

Oh man. You just had to ask that, didn't you?

My first thought was that this must be one of the Grand Challenge Equations. After a dozen playbacks to actually stitch together a large enough view of the equation, I began an elimination exam against various equations. Since there's very little agreement on what really qualifies, I picked the SDSC list. It did not appear to be Newton's, population, Navier-stokes, poisson, heat, helmoltz, DFT, maxwell's equations, the partition function, any of the thermodynamics combined, radiosity or spline.

That leaves Schrödinger's Equation. It's not a good enough, match, though. A bit of research turned up that this is likely a variant on the time independant Schrödinger Equation, a copy of which I'm attaching for reference. If I've made an error here, I appologize. I'm running out of time before I have to be off. So yeah... The first attachment is the image behind him, and the second is an example. If anyone else is nerdier, please help. ;)

I must not qualify for the largest nerd, though - I didn't recognize it at first glance. ;)

Oooh-ooh-ooh! I recognize that! That was on our last exam! Crap! I can't find the original equations in my notes because of all the derivations we did (wave functions and particle in a box and such), and my textbook uses a slightly different notation. I'll ask my professor about it tommorrow. Shame on me for not knowing this, I know it's going to be on the final.
