Manga at walmart: great prices

Postby Miso_Chan » Wed Aug 30, 2006 11:36 am

Hey!

I found (at walmart) manga!!!!!! It was heavely discounted! I bought some Tsubasa for 9.50! naruto was 6 bucks!!!! and Full Metal Alchemist was 7.50!!!!! They also had some others, but I forgot what it was. most of the shelves were empty and I saw a guy re stocking it, he said that they were selling so fast, that they've been having to order a shipment every other day!

You should definetly check this out...... its in the books/magazine/word puzzles and game section.

Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursing it with eager feet,

And whither then? I cannot say."

I'm wondering if the manga in wal-mart is on a city to city basis, depending on whether or not there is a larger market for manga. Wal-mart would surely know what is selling, I would assume, but I doubt Texas is a stronghold for it.

Just a passing thought. How I would love anime/manga at cost...

UPDATE!!!!!

I went (again) to walmart and they didn't have any manga. Here is the standard that they must have to stock manga(that i've noticed)

1. It must be a super wally world

2. must be a POPULAR wally world

and 3. must be a semi-new Wally world

hope that helps your search.....................

if there was cheapo cheapo manga there i might just brave it through and dash in for a bit just to look

We have a super center, but no manga. Joseph-Beth carries discounted manga, but it is random as to the volume numbers.

We have it at our walmart! I got Kingdom Hearts for $3.98(yeah,yeah, it's not a real manga, etc.) They also had Naruto and Furuba for six bucks, although I didn't buy any of those. The only bad thing is that you don't know if they'll have the volume you want.

I've looked on several occasions for manga in my local Wal-Mart, but I have yet to find any. Still, I'll keep an eye out for it in the future.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Hey I was just at a store called Dollar General recently looking for blank tapes and I found some great deals on some anime they had there. Witch hunter Robin, Silent Mobius, and banner of the stars for 3 bucks were the ones I remember the most. They had several anime I haven't heard of and half a dozen DBZ tapes for 2. I thought it was good deal.

The thing my Wal-Mart has close to manga is an Avatar volume. Other than that, there is none. It'd be awsome if my Wal-Mart would get manga. They had a Naruto DVD recently, Karas: The Prophesy, and Howl's Moving Castle, so maybe that is just the beginning!

My walmart has manga. Of course, the volumes are pretty random. I was very tempted to get some FMA but I was able to abstain. Naruto was pretty cheap, only 6 bucks.
