I'm afraid I went out and bought it. While I haven't started playing the game seriously yet (I usually "test" new rpgs by playing about an hour into them), it's safe to say - I was wrong in my initial cynicism about the game. I already love the battle system, and the some of the comments that the girls make are hilarious. I thought the music would be a big turn-off for me, but it wasn't really. It's obviously not going to be an epic game by any means, but it's already fun. The Charlie's Angels type approach wasn't as bad as I was dreading. While the game will get serious later on, I think anyone who was a fan of FFX will enjoy this - especially if you're already fond of the characters. Whether you'll want to wait for the price to go down or something ... well, that may be another matter. I really can't say yet, since I'm only an hour in. Where Yuna was very serious in FFX, it's nice to see more of her personality and watch her, shall we say "loosen up a bit"? (*ahem* that wasn't referring to her new taste in clothing
)
After downloading and watching so many versions of previews for this game that featured the Japanese Real Emotion, it was very odd to hear it in English. I was wondering if they were going to translate the main song or not, since they did for VIII and IX but not for X.
And I get a huge kick out of the way Yuna runs, because I used to play sports with a girl that would run
exactly like that.
All in all, I like it very much so far. *Does Rikku's new hop hop victory dance*
