I have not read Wish, though I'm sure the aetwork is indeed beautiful. I'm still trying to get the last volume of CCS: Master of the Clow! It's hard to find in local bookstores--Sakura-chan is so popular!

On to CCS topics: I had a question . . . some people think that CCS is evil becuase of the magic and all in it. As Christians here at CAA how is it that we can still watch it and not have any conviction. Not saying I agree, I think it is just fantasy and if I rmemeber that its alright. I just wanted to put it out there what I heard from other people. This applies to anime in general too I guess. I mean, there is alot of magic in CCS, but its just a cartoon and its isn't real. My thoughts . . . . ^_^

I have a rule that applies to all anime I watch that contains magic or heavy religious influence: If I can't keep it in perspective and remember it's JUST PRETEND then I don't watch it. I see nothing wrong with CCS in particular. Some people just like to nitpick at things, methinks. >>;

I read it and think its fine. I reserved the wrong copys from my libary though so I have 5-6 when I need 2-3. And about this whole CCS has gay charaters. I need to know. If its how Sakura says she feels all light and bubbly around her sub math teacher thats because her math teacher has powers to.

Ah, I really don't wanna say to much in case you do decide to read it. I don't know how to do the spoiler thing either, but there is implied. I haven't read the whole thing myself, so I don't know how much it goes into it, but it was implied in the fourth. Okay nobody kill me for this, but I personally don't mind yaoi. I'm NOT gay myself, but I don't mind reading it. I'm used to it, and I know it's a bad thing, but...yeah. So the impliedness of it didn't bother me at all.

Exactly. You're not goingto change their minds or hearts by doing that either. My Bible teacher seems to think that's what you have to do to people, and I know if I was in that position, it would totally turn me off to what they were saying.

Belldandy, I agree with you--the same thing goes for CCS that goes for other animes involving magic, or books involving magic. If it is presented as fiction, not as, "Here is how you perform this ceremony in real life, here is what you need to believe", then there should be no problem for most Christians. I realize that different individuals have different levels of faith, though, and I understand that some may be led by the Spirit that reading about magic is detrimental to their faith. I feel that each individual needs to pray to God about it--He will convict their heart. So I feel that CCS specifically, and other CLAMP mangas and animes involving magic, like MKR, are really very innocent and hopefully are taken as such by most readers or viewers.

As for the conversation about homosexuality, please try to stay away from ANY (not just that one) non Sakura/CLAMP topics on this thread. I don't want others finding topics such as that on this thread turning it into a forum for a debate on touchy topics. I realize it started out CLAMP-related, but it seemed to be slipping toward a more general theological discussion. Questions PM me! Thanks!

And another question. If you were to become ruler of Cephiro, the land in Magic Knight Rayearth where wishes become reality, what is the first thing you would wish for/create?

I would like to have a wolf for mine, when it's in it's temp form. It would be black with amber eyes. When it's in it's other form, it would be more humanoid, with black hair, still amber eyes, tanned skin, and he'd be a total bish, just cuz. I'd probably call him Daemien, because I've become super-attached to that name lately.

I'd probably wish to be a good ruler for my people. I mean, ruling would be monstrous bad if your subjects hated you. Everything else is obtainable, since, you know, you'd be ruler and all.

First of all, YES we NEED to stay on track! CCS please! (or CLAMP)

Ok ok, lemme see, a guardian beast, probably would choose a cat of some kind. Like a tiger. That'd be soooo cool!

Now, if I was ruler of Cephiro? This one is harder, hmmmm, first of all, that has way too much pressure on the person being the Pillar, but my wish would probably be something like let people be able to do as they wish in the bounds of good intentions. I would just want people to be happy and productive.

Okay, for a guardian beast--if it could be a fictional creature I would choose a flame-red dragon, not necessarily the traditional type but more the long, serpentine Chinese dragon type. Drawing its energy from the sun, it would fire brilliant blasts of fiery light from its mouth.

If I were to choose a real animal--this is actually tougher. I would not choose a big cat, but I would like something fast and sleek yet powerful. I like bears, but bears are more strength than speed. A wolf would indeed be a good choice. If I had to choose, I would go with a wolf, but the dragon is still my favorite.

If I were the Pillar of Cephiro, I would first want everyone to be able to clearly know the Truth. I would not force them to accept it, but I would want them to know the Truth (God) and know clearly that He is the Truth. Then they could make their choice.
