True true, about the different in opposition of the two countries (we are so getting off-topic aren't we? ^^;; ) I totally agree. Your calling would be something big, and if He's behind it then it's definitely going to have impact.

Just so we don't go off any furthur.... have you actually got the Heather beam? I was on my way for the 333 kills but yeah... had to return to the States -_-;;; (haven't bought the game here...) And I was using the unlimited sub.... heard you have to use regular weapons... NOOOOOOOOO!!! I must get the UFO ending!!! MUST MUST MUST! Or I have failed as a self-proclaimed SH enthusiast! >_<

I'm curious about the occult aspect of SH1 and SH3...

Is the game pro-occult or anti-occult?

Do the games blatantly contradict Christianity?

This is a spoiler, but here's the answer
The Cult that summons a demon "goddess" changed their image to mirror the Christian beliefs of the settlers in the town. In the games, i think it's pretty clear the cult is evil

I don't think THAT aspect is anti-christian, but some things show a distaste for Christianity... It's obvious the evil demonic cult is supposed to look like Christianity, and specifically Catholicism. That is the biggest example of Christianity in Japan, and the team of SH (and the team of Final Fantasy Tactics for that matter) seem to be very put off by it.
I don't find the game to be outright blasting Christianity, but the creative team obviously has some hangups about it... I can take that as a prayer point and enjoy the game.

First off, the chanting was what I said, at least in its origins. Yamaoka recorded it off a documentary.

Also, there has been disagreement about Pyramid Head and Valtiel,
with many people (me included) saying they were the same (they had the same clothes except for the pyramid) Konami confirmed that Valtiel WAS pyramid head. He doesn't attack heather for good reason, but they are the same character. Of course, all I have to wonder about is the TWO PHs. So what's up with that? It is also notable that from the front and top (during the dragging scene), Valtiel's head looks like James' head... Well, at least to me it does...
