 Yes, his site is rather dorky like that. Sorry, I should have said something. He's got a ton of cool stuff on there, so it's kinda worth the wait.

It better be worth it! I should be downloading SP2 for my computer!

The things I do as an anime fan...::sighs::

Anyway, Vic (Insert Groovy Yet Complicated Last Name Here) is one of the coolest V/A's around. I was listening to the commentary track for DNAngel, and he absolutely rocks...granted he didn't know a lot about the anime, but he's still cool!

I wonder if he sounds as cool singing gospel as he does when he sings anime songs?

Dude, just check out his music page. I know he has one song on there called Far From Home, but he might have At Calvary up there too.

Desperado, if you get the chance to see her, Caitlin is amazing. She's a sweetheart. It's possible she'll have a worship service on the Sunday morning of the con. She and Vic did one at MTAC and she did one herself at Otakon.

I read an interview that Vic Mignona,Travis Winngham and Caitling Glass did together and it's interesting because Winry wasn't one of the characters she originally tried out for.She said she tried out for Lust with a British accent.

Well, I finally got a chance to see Vic (Insert "What the heck was his parents thinking?!" last name here) website...NO WONDER it wouldn't load up with my dialup connection! :dizzy:

It's a great site, full of information, and the animated-Vic was cool as well, but...(And I hope you're reading this) next time you create a website, think of the little black dude from Louisiana who can't afford Broadband or DSL and tone it down a bit, huh?

Yes, he does in fact! I was at Yasumicon this weekend, and yesterday (Sunday) he did a worship service that really impressed me.

I had been to his "I'll hug anyone who asks" panel the day before and really enjoyed it, and I heard him sing 'Brothers' with Piano Squall. What was really interesting was to see how different he was for worship. He sang some songs, he talked about Jesus, he read from the Bible and he encouraged people to read the Bible for themselves. He has a very winsome style of talking about God, and I think he must reach alot of people with Jesus.

I know what you mean about his website btw! I tried it when we had dialup and didn't get anywhere. It was one of the first places I went when we got DSL and it was so fun to make his head pop up and down when moving the mouse over the buttons!

I suppose that singing is a talent they would look for in Voice actors as sometimes on occasion a character like Lacus will have to do some singing.

I just watched the commentary on the first Angelic Layer disc, and both the voice actors on it said they were singers and it helped them get their timing right when dubbing.

It makes a lot more sense that way since the acting is done with the voice and singers also have to work with their voices as well.

I didn't know the guy who did Spike Spiegels voice was a Christian. He seems to cuss a lot.

SEEMS TO?! He DOES cuss a lot! Look at the characters he plays. But, Like I said before:

Me, of course! wrote:

IMHO, God sees that, and He knows that those words they're saying aren't in their heart. Take Vic...Vic... (Insert Weird yet cool last name here). During FMA, and in other roles, if I'm not mistaken, he used a lot of foul language, and Ed was an admitted athiest (sp?) But once the microphone is turned off, he goes to church and praises God just like anyone else. So, just because a person USES that type of language in an anime, they're just voicing their characters--NOT themselves.

Something disturbs me. It seems that some of you feel that it is impossible to be a Christian and use profanity. Let's look biblically first. Jeremiah, considered one of the greatest prophets, was a veritable potty-mouth. The only reason we don't see it that way is because of translators. So much of the language we read in the English bible is sanitized by Elisabethan/Jamesian sensitivities and modern day prudence (note I said prudence not prudishness due to the negative connotation). The Song of Solomon is much more sensual and erotic than the any English translation leads on. When confronted by the different people after Jesus' arrest, Peter "curses" those questioning him.
Let's talk about words considered profane. Many of the words considered profanity today is due to cultural bias. in A.D. 1066 The Norman French conquered the Anglo/Saxon British and the French language became quite influential and words commonly used for body functions and copulation were changed to resemble their French equivalent instead of their Germanic standard. Also the Japanese language has only one mild profanity dealing with female anatomy.
I'm not going to discuss, more than this mention, the difference between performance and reality because it has been discussed in detail already.
Finally, let me state that I do not believe that we should just use whatever language we want. I do not believe that profanity should be a part of everyday common language (although it seems that it already has). I find profanity just that profane. I feel that it is lazy to reduce conversation to o collection of 4 letter words scattered among the intended point. It shows a lack of education and decorum. However I do not feel that the use of such language excludes one from being a Christian.
The conclusion: profanity should be avoided vehemently when speaking, but the use of such language cannot be used as a test of Christian fellowship.

Ed and Mustang both at certian points in FMA say that they don't believe in God but Mustang doesn't cuss as much as Ed,at least on the AS version I haven't heard him cuss at least not too much.So we shouldn't get the idea that Ed's cussing has anything to do with the fact that he may be an Atheist.

You know, I"m kinda weirded out by you guys saying "he cusses a lot"...the actor is cussing, yeah, but it's really more the *character* who's doing the cussing, right? I mean, we don't assume that people who play villians are bad people, right? o.o; I'm not saying that Christian actors shouldn't be concerned at all with content in animes (or whatever) that they're in, but...there's a difference between fiction and reality, right?

ha ha ha!! i know this is getting slightly off topic here, but i thought this was the most appropriate place to post this, apparently vic also does some music arranging/producing, and one of the bands on his resume that he's done the musical arrangement for was actually the very first cd by dc talk, their self-titled one that came out 1988, man, that cd's older than a buncha the folks that are members here....
