His name is Kaneda
And Luci Christian is one (She was Kaname Chidori in FMP)

mitsuki lover wrote:As is the United States is probably the most Christian country in the world, not saying much is it?
mitsuki lover wrote:That was a good question btb since a lot of the anime that air on cable are from
Viz/Ocean Group stable.
I imagine if any of the Canadians here know of anyone from Canada that they ought to contribute the names.
mitsuki lover wrote:You have to remember that it's the lines that are in the script that they have to say.
Tom Dincht wrote:I just don't get it. I mean, of ocuse I swear. I'm not perfect, who is? But I'm not representing Christianity in the VA world.

I'd say whatever I had to as a character in a show... It's not coming from MY heart, but from that of my Character's. There's a big difference. Which of course is based on my belief I don't believe it can be a sin to simply utter a certain word. "I'll kill you" is equally as offensive as "F*** you" and "You idiot" is just as offensive as "You B****" or "You A**", but saying i can't say those things ("I'll kill you" or "You idiot") playing a fictional character to play out a fictional (or even true, in the retelling) scene is a little asinine. I think it's just as crazy to say that about these specific words.
Christisright wrote:The F-Bomb is both disgraceful and Unprofessional,I don't think any VA or actor in general, weather they be Christian or not, should say the F-bomb. It's bad enough I hear it in everyday life, but I don't want to hear it in my entertainment.
Bobtheduck wrote:I disagree... It isn't discracefull to have a character say something that is realistic for them to say... Now, an anime, coming from Japanese where there is no equivalent to that word (Japanese language isn't as "colorfull" as english), it would be out of place... If it were an american movie (or book, for that matter) Then (depending on the situation) it would be perfectly appropriate.
I personally find the issue of bad words a dangerous red herring in the Christian community, distracting from the real purpose of the topic of controling your tongue...
As to the topic at hand, I'd rather see more Christian Japanese seiyuu. In other words, get some of the Christians (as few as they are) that are in Japan allready into the industry. Also, more Christian animators and manga-ka.
Tom Dincht wrote:I'm aware they're doing their jobs, but Mitsuki Lover was wrong. They don't HAVE to try out for a potty mouth character.
Christisright wrote:that doesnt mean that they have to use that language in real life.
Radical Dreamer wrote:What do you mean? Are you saying that the VA's do use the language outside of their jobs? I've never heard it, and I still think that this all comes down to judging a person's heart based on the parts they act...Anyways, I can see this topic getting locked if this argument goes much further. And for now, it would seem that all the Christian VA's that we know of have been mentioned.
RedMage wrote:I don't mean to put a damper on things, but I'm finding it a little hard to believe so many of these prominent VAs are actually Christians. I'd feel better if I knew what the source for this information was. I'm not calling anybody a liar, mind you, it just seems odd such a specialized vocation as VA would have so many Christians. I mean, most people in the U.S. are Christians according to polls, but lots of people say they are without understanding what it means.
Christisright wrote: however bobtheduck,i do agree that their should be more christian japanese seiyuu, animators, and writers. but like I stated only 1.5% of japanese are christian. hopefully that number will grow in the near future.
