That's true... most of the blood really doesn't look very realistic. Well it might be better to rent them, not sure. The only thing I would say, not neccessarily to anyone in particular, is that don't watch samurai x expecting it to be like Rurouni Kenshin. They're quite a bit different, but that's been said somewhat already lol.. ^.^ hope you enjoy them!

Oh, I will. I'm sure of it. Anything Kenshin has to be enjoyable. Even if he is a crazed assassin...meh. Does anyone else besides me know how Reflections ends? I've heard rumors, but I'm not COMPLETELY sure. Anyway, I heard that....
Kenshin dies from leprosy or something.
Rurouni Kenshin has a t.v. series isn't that bad in the violence factor save a couple Scenes (the suicide of Udo Jin'e, fight between Kenshin and Saitou, etc) and thiers some blood.

However, I prefer to watch Samurai X: Trust and Betryal. I just love the animation style and story line. It does get extremely violent. But I think it makes the watcher realize what indeed happened at that time and the realization of killing.

As for Reflections, I like it (just watched it again today  ). I don't like the fact that it doesn't really follow the time line of Rurouni Kenshin nesscarily. Though I found it very sad and touching.
