Hey, guys. Now quit being so mean spirited - some people here like it. If there's one thing I get tired of, it's threads where people bash other anime just because they don't like it.

Ok, I won't be mean spirited about this. I will simply say that I wish Cartoon Network would replace it with a better show on Toonami. It also feels very "American" for a Japanese anime series.

What strikes me as funny is that people who don't like a show think that everyone must think it stinks. There are a lot of shows that if I posted that they stank, I'd get lanced. I happen to -like- the show. I -know- it's supposed to be lame and childish (hence the reason it's funny, people) and comparing it to GW or a show like that is comparing apples and oranges. So no, a show doesn't stink just because you say it does; that's only your opinion.

Good point. If no one liked it, then it wouldn't be on the air. Still, if an anime is going to have comedy, it should have more than that. If I wanted to watch a comedy cartoon, I would turn on the Simpsons.

I saw bits of it, and I didn't think it was that bad . . . it was just to cute for Gundam so I guess its for kids I guess. Maybe it will help bring in younger otaku?

The title of the thread certainly has the potential of stepping on someone's toes pretty heavily, I'll say. :eyebrow:

Anyway, I haven't watched it but I've seen models of SD Gundams...while they're cute, mecha just isn't my taste, normal size or SD. I watched GWing for the bishies. :brow: But I'm sure someone out there must like SD Gundam for their own personal reasons and deserve respect for that.

geez. people are allowed their freggin opinions on anything- you shouldnt be offended if we think it sucks. It completely ruined all that was before it, Gundam is anything BUT cute, and the cuteness has destroyed it. Espcially that triumphant background music near the end of the episodes. People should never censor what other people think. Its annoying. (sorry, bad day)

People are free to say whatever they like, of course - it wouldn't be much of a discussion board otherwise. However, most of the first posters in this thread have a tendency to forget that it's their opinion, not the way things are. And saying it stinks when obviously it doesn't to some people is just downright rude.

I'm taking a chance of getting flamed here, but I have to stand up for a show I like! Granted, it's not deep or angst-ridden, but it's a PARODY folks! It's got a bunch of series and OVA's going back to the 80's and has never been meant to be serious. And somebody out there likes it b/c according to another site (animenfo.com) SD Gundam merchandise has out sold that of all other Gundam series put together. It seems like my family possesses a large portion of said merchandise!

I also appreciate this show b/c it's what finally got my husband into watching anime. He watched SD Gundam Force w/the kids and loved the silliness, especially Zako Zako Hour. Next thing I knew he was watching Cowboy Bebop with me and adding anime movies to our queue at Netflix!

 I see now, it's a parody type huh? Now that reminds me, I have seen a lot of chibi Gundam character comic strips, added at the end of GWing mangas. They're usually silly and funny, and it was intended to be that way. it's a nice change of atmosphere since GWing was so filled with angst, everyone being so serious and all.... Maybe that's what the SDGundam is all about...^^

It aint bad. I'm a Gundam purist {IE: Afraid of watching any Gundam series that isn't Mobile Suit or Wing} so I won't be following it to the conclusion and writing intensly detailed plot guides.

Here's the link to the official site.

http://www.sdgundamforce.com/

I think what the common misapprehension is that people go in expecting a show like Mobile Suit or GW, and it's just not. It's very much a silly parody, with the good guys always saving the day, etc, etc. Normally I don't tolerate computer cel-shading well, but it seems to flatter the SD Gundam designs...:P It's very clean, so it's a show you could show to a four or five year old with confidence. Of course - once you get into that, you get into the whole "that's too young for me" thing with some people (which is fine; kid's shows don't go over well for most adults). So I dunno if you'd like it or not, Gypsy.
