I saw Slow Coming day a few months back, when they had their drummer.
Seems theve gone accoustic.

Oh! The Fray is something you should check out if you like faster coldplay-like music.

Interesting. Was the show good? I have their first CD and like it, but haven't heard any of their more recent music.

Oh it was quite awsome, though they were opening for PAX 217.
The bass player was really funny though, he started going all scene and acting emo.

Next time they come through Cali I plan on seeing them and how they sound now. Promise :thumb:

The Awkward Romance is so good and awesome and they are even better live.

Oh, and they get madd respect because they are from my home state and are really nice guys.

Oh, and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, if they haven't been named already. Dallas Taylor's new band. I saw them last night. Dallas Taylor is quite the showman. Good stuff. They are truly a blend of southern rock n' roll and hardcore. Very good stuff.

Yeah I heard one of their (AR) songs and liked it quite a bit the very first time I heard it. I want to find more of their stuff sometime.

I'm not sure if Maylene has been mentioned yet. Anyway another good one is John Shumake. He's a guitarist from Denver who is amazing. Also a good friend of mine.

Go check out their Purevolume page. They have a ton of stuff. I think they might even have their entire Covington album up. It's a really great CD. Definitely recommend checking it out. Also, their EP To Breathe Is to Compromise is fantastic, too, and I just might like it more than Covington.

A good screamo band (that I'm listening to right now) is "Fear From Falling" from Golden Colorado.

Crowned King is also a great scop (or whatever the genre's called band)

Sugarcult is a great punk band! One of those bands people don't remember they know unless they hear their songs (if you played NHL 2005, most likely you've heard them then).

....since I heard the pronounciation werid, it was SKA which was what I was referring to. *Tries promoting Crowned King on here once again* Seriously, they are gaining even international popularity now! Went on an Autralia tour last year, and just made special edition CD covers for their Japan CD release (and look great!) for their Japan tour! But with songs like Turn it Up We're Going Down (LOVE that song), Impatience, and All That She Wanted, it was SO worth going to 2 of their up-live-and-personal concerts (aka a tight moshign area instead of a HUGE stadium, close enough to feel them fall and drip sweat on you) :/ AMAZING concert, and I had ringing in my ears for like 3 days in the second one :/ Still awsome... *ish finished promoting* Oh, and they're recording a NEW CD this year^^

Crowned King conciders theirselves "rock/punk/alternative" but also ska since they have a trombone player (used to have a sax and trumpet player too but they were cut).

http://www.purevolume.com/crownedking

Has 2 of the 3 fav songs of mine on there^^ Impatience is one of their old songs done when they still had the 2 other band members. Heh funny thing is when I came home from the first concert the only song I really remembered them doing was Turn it Up cause it was awsome and I remembered the "whoooaa oh" lyrics.

http://www.myspace.com/crownedking
(slow to load cause the Turn it Up and Impatience music videos start playing at the same time)
More music on here too, and has my third fav song All That She Wanted^^
After looking at the pic on that site of the new CD covers, I want one v_v Lousy Japan getting all the special stuff...

Note: just if anyone was wondering, as far as I know, only one song has somewhat offensive lyrics in it, but it's in neither of the sites (called "Don't Wanna Go" and either than the one sentence in the chorus, it's a really good song too)

Does anyone know the wild swans? I wouldn't be surprised if you don't because they only had two albums. I especially liked their vocals. so ghost-like.

One singer that's relatively unknown (at least where I live) is Imogen Heap. Then again, as she is the lead singer of Frou Frou, she's probably more well known, since Frou Frou was featured in the movie Garden State not long ago. A few more bands I haven't really heard talk of are Mew, The Format, Islands, and (maybe) The Spill Canvas. But, someone else out there has probably heard of them, I'm just mentioning the ones no one around my area really knows of.
