._. So clueless...

Okay, so I decided to finally break down and buy a REAL graphics card for my computer. I have an emachine T2385 model, and it didn't come equipped with a video card, just this chip...thing. While that's good for most little things, combine that with dial up and try to game and it's absolutely horrid. It makes me want to cry. I'm being dead serious...it seems like it's going about 10 frames and HOUR. Well...not that bad, but it seems that way. Anyway, I went to shopping without thinking as much as I should have (which tends to happen when you're impulse shopping) and bought an NVidia GeForce 7300 GS. Well that's great...but the problem is that computer does NOT have a PCI Express compliant motherboard. Just AGP. So after getting home and joyfully opening up my computer to find out my mistake, I was severly disappointed. Since I've opened the product, and spent a pretty penny on it, I'm hoping that the store will take it back since it's impossible for me to use it...but that's another problem. Anyway, I started looking at the other requirements and I started wondering if my computer met the other specs. I don't have the manual...that was 3 years ago when I bought it, and I could only find a FEW of my computer's specs online. I don't even know how to BEGIN going about how to find out what graphics card I can even use. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to find obscure specs, or does some random all knowing angel know what card I can use? XD; I'm going to try to return this thing tomorrow to get a replacement. I know it's late to get a response, but I figured I might as well try. Thanks for reading!

First off, may I congradulate you on a better computer than my family.

Next up, these are the best specs I found for it online:
specs wrote: 2.3-GHz Celeron CPU, 512MB of DDR266 SDRAM, Windows XP Professional, 80GB hard drive, 16X DVD-ROM drive, 48X/24X/48X CD-RW drive, integrated Intel Extreme graphics using main memory, 17-inch EMachines EView 17f monitor, AC-97 sound card, EMachines SP-20A speakers, network adapter, V.92 modem

If the graphics card requires DirectX, it may supply it on the disc with the driver. And now that you know it only has an AGP slot, check the boxes. They should say which kind they require (Wally-world had some AGP cards last I checked).

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it n_n

Those were the same specs I found as well, but I'm still missing some information. As it turns out, a friend of mine has the exact same computer I have, and he just got a better graphics card, so he's giving me his old one, so problem solved :D

Thanks again!

Wow, thanks, Ryan! Lots of options there. I should be getting the other vid card tomorrow, so I'll know about that then.

Now I just need to work on getting a new monitor xD
