Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

Postby Bobtheduck » Fri May 12, 2006 4:24 pm

Ok... Am I the ONLY person here excited for this? It's the "missing link" between MGS3 and MG1... Not only that, but a cooperative sneaking mission... (with no respawn, apparently) Ok, so i've never been much of an online player, but this has to mean something to you people...

Apparently Eva comes back from Hiding, and joins up with Big Boss, and of course Ocelot joins up... I guess this is show the les enfants terribles project... I just want to play this so badly...

I would be more excited if I had a PSP.

I really hope it has full-on voice acting... but, I wonder if it can fit on one disc. Nevetheless, if Ac!d is any indication, it'll be a well-made and high quality Metal Gear game. I can not wait.

Who knows, maybe this will be multi-disk... I can't imagine an MGS without voice acting... I mean, that's what it's KNOWN for...

I am on the edge with this new MGS game! I just got MGS3: Subsistance, and I'm going for the Metal Gear Ac!d 2, but I'm dying for MGS: Portable Ops! This has got to be the exact MGS game that PSP users have been waiting for!

I'm getting another PSP soon, so I'm definitely looking forward to this one. It may not be a good comparison, but if Grand Theft Auto: LCS was any indication of what all can be packed into one UMD, then I'd say that MGS should have full voice acting.

*cries*

They're ditching the old (better style) camera in favor of the "new" camera...

*cries*

I'm guessing this change will apply to MGS4, too... I hate those sort of cameras... Gamespot has the nerve to call it "Vastly superior"

At least the story will likely be phenomenal.

Anyway I've already got mine preordered So I hopefully get that awesome PSP armor.

Ok, no, I'm talking about MGS2 style (cinematic camera angles with mostly fixed, or smooth crane movements) vs subsistence style (over the shoulder)

Portable ops is opting for the over the shoulder... I hate that camera... One thing I always loved about Metal Gear was that I never had a problem with the camera... Until Subsistence... At least on that, you could switch it back, but you won't likely be able to on portable ops.

This sucks. I love MGS. But I won't be able to play this due to a lack of a PSP. And I don't want to get a PSP for only one game.

Same applies with a PS3 >_> I want MGS4 when it comes out, but no way am I going to be able to get a PS3 anytime soon.

I see your point but the only way that worked was because of the radar and the indoor enviorments.

I had ouddels of problems with that camera in MGS3, I thought the new camera was awesome. But I can see your concern with thi scamera on the PSP.

Seeing as how most of the most interseted in this game don't have a PSP, I'l be sure to let ya'll when I get some hands on time with it.

Oh, I'm getting a PSP... I may be 24, but my parents treat me like I'm 2... One way to exploit that is asking for big gifts at birthdays... Something I haven't done until now (which means I won't be getting it until next august) I figure, take the good with the bad (the gifts with the condescending) So, I'll be playing this... Oh, yes, there will be pixelated blood. Ocelot's, because I'll be killing him every few minutes out of pure loathing even though you're not supposed to (much like Maria in SH2)

I just gotta wait 9 months before the glory is birthed, which will only give me a short time until MGS4 is released, which I'll be playing on a friend's system. I'll finally see the Metal Gear Saga come to an end (except hopefully a next-gen remake update of the first 3 games... Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, and Metal Gear Solid)

EDIT: I really need to check for these sort of things... Sorry for the double post, I'll erase the earlier one and consolidate them... BTW: I won't be getting a PSP just for one game... I'll also be getting it for movies and such to watch on long car trips... After this last traveling experience, I realize this would be very helpful... I'll definitely make use of it if I get the money for Japan... And, hey! If I DON'T get the money for Japan, I'll simply use any money I saved up for that to get a PS3, an HDTV, and some games... Wow, win-win.

EDIT 2 Electric Boogaloo: Once again, I gotta say, how could you look at this and say it's not going to be good? The recruitment thing seems pretty cool, as does the bridging of the gap between MGS3 and MG1. I wanna see Big Boss turn evil. They already did a better job than George Lucas did with Darth Vader, I want to see them completely eradicate that mess of a character transformation... Oh, and I just realized that the new Firefox has a "search in text box" feature FINALLY and a spelcheck! That word I just typed has a big red line underneath it! Awesome!
