Live action sailor moon (not Seera Myuu)

Postby Bobtheduck » Mon Oct 13, 2003 2:51 am

Has anyone heard of the "other" live action sailormoon, besides the musical? It is pretty recent... I was shocked to see it at (link removed by agent smith... what link?) and again at (link removed by the Lollypop Guild for gross use of anti-munchkin language)

Dang it, I'm not in goof off board, but I acn't hlep myslef...

Ok, back on target. This is a live action Sailormoon... I mean, with actual Japanese Teen girls playing the parts... I wonder which portion of the story they are going to do, or if they are going to have something completely not sailormoon in the story... Anyone know about this?

I saw some clips of it and judging the content of the clip its looks a tokusatsu version of sailor moon. (those who don't know what tokusatsu mean it stands for "changing heros" heres a link to one of many tokusatsus http://www.biomic-soldier.com/ )

Watched it. It was hilarious. Couldn't stop laughing--from all the cheesyness ^^;; It's just worse then the conventional tokusatsu because of the BAD BAD effects. I keep on thinking that the actors are cosplaying... you'd expect more from the filming industry there ^^;;;;

But it was fun! You can't get more cheesy than THAT! I'm really interested where they are taking this. And it's seems they skipped the first few transformations/attacks of Sailor Moon.

Hmm... Luna's voice is the original voice, but why in God's green earth did they have to make her a PLUSH DOLL? It's a stinkin puppet, man... But yeah...

This seems to be taken from the show, but the Luna Pen becomes a cell phone? And Naru's mom running a CATWALK? Still, this is NOT as cheeseball as you made it out to be... I wonder if it is going to go the whole first season, and if we'll see metalia in this? And it Zoicite is going to be, um... Well, you know... And the fansub translated Senshi as "Guardian" but senshi is soldier (wheras Guardian would be more like Mamoru, actually Mamoru means "to protect" hehe) and they translated Youma as "tentacle monster" I think that was a joke on the part of the fansubbers...

Luna looks very out of place, and Minako should have put on some more clothes... But the costumes don't look that bad... It may look like a cosplayer, but at least it's a high end cosplayer. I think they look a bit better than the seera myuu costumes... For instance, the hair looks like hair and not like plastic.

Did you see the stuff they did for the commercials? Evil Kitty? Hahahahaahahahahaha!!!!! At first when I saw that commercial for the underwear, I was thinking "What kind of sick twisted pervs made this?" then I realized that what I was reading was a joke by the fansubbers, it was a mock subtitle...

Kitty Mind control Candy!! Um... Yeah, I don't know what those people were smoking when they translated the commercials... The McDonalds one was wrong...

The Yooma didn't look that bad. I just wish they had made something a little more sinister looking than 3 hands made of water... Ok, beryl's costume was like halfway between being a good costume and being something off power rangers. Not THAT bad, though.

Um... Ami's hair (as sailor mercury) is pretty exaggerated...

I remember from the first SM ep that there was a report of Sailor V stopping Jewel Thieves... I haven't read the first manga, so is the Jewel thief mamoru in the manga? It also seems like they cut out the rest of the Generals (Nephrite, Zoicite, Kunzite) and only have Jadeite. I wonder if the General's personalities are going to fit the manga or the anime... I'd like to see it fit the manga, but it may not be either... They took some major liberties...

And the fansubbers also took many liberties.. They certainly didn't take their job seriously...

EDIT: And why did Mamoru not have any roses? What is Tuxedo Mask with no roses?

I am currently watching the series, Just at #37 right now.

I thought it is pretty good for live action, and the cheese is of the right volume and flavor (Tillamook Cheddar, aged 2 years, of course).

More importantly, though, is that it got me back to doing a fic that I've been working for 5-6 years on...

FOR NOTE: Somehow, this got bumped up to new in my browser...I have no idea why. Go figure. Anyhow, sorry for digging up a 3 year old post. X_x

wow... I'm shocked I got into this in 2003... i was still a CAA newbie back then...

I haven't seen any of the live action ones in a while... I started watching the anime again, though... Saw a fansub of ep 46... it was actually decent. I wouldn't mind the DiC ones as much if they were like that...

I need to check out the live action one again, hopefully not one of the parody subs (they're pretty raw at times, and annoyingly so since it ruins it for people wanting to know what's really being said)

oh, and I made this thread before there was "general entertainment" so it was in the right place back then...

I have second season... Wanted first, but my bro bought the wrong set... I'm not all that fond of R season, and really wanted classic... I'd trade you... If I still had it (I'm lending it out, and the person hasn't sent it back to me...)

I'm downloading an episode of PGSM as we speak. I've already heard some of the songs and watched the opening sequence online. I can just tell it's going to be wonderful. From what I've seen, I really like Usagi's and Rei's actresses, plus, my goodness, Mamoru's actor is sooooo cute So much cuter than his celluloid form, and that's sayin' a lot! Sorry, I can't believe I just typed that! ;) :thumb: :red:

If we're talking about Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon,I know where I can get some
fansubs.
This series is probably most noted for the Ami-Turns-Evil story arch. It's the only time that according to Wikipedia she ever turns evil.

I'm planning on watching this soon. ^_^ The special effects look good at some times and at other times... ... not so good. Looks very overdramatic and hilarious!
