FF7 storyline?

Postby ~BlueRose~ » Fri May 05, 2006 4:48 pm

Hello gaming peoples,

My mom rented FFVII: Advent Children on Netflix.
I've never played the FF games, because of both my parents and my own convictions of the games, so I have never played FF7. She's watching it to see if we (My sisters and I) can watch (Because I LOVE CG), but she doesn't understand it.

Was wondering if anyone could explain the plot of FF7 really well, in a somewhat detailed storyline so my mom could understand the main plot of Advent Children.
Everywhere I've looked for any game pretty much, it just has a basic storyline of the beginning. But I need pretty much the whole game, or whatever I need for my mom to understand the movie.

Anyone out there who could do this for me please?? o.O

Mm, it might. But I just need a summary of the important parts and the storyline.

I dunno...if someone asked me to give them the plot and info. on KH, I could do it. So there's gotta be someone who can tell me about FF7! :(

Oh! The Advent Children DVD has a part on it that tells the story of FF7 using scenes from the game...if your mom watches that first, it should help her understand. :D

Yeah, the spiritual problums are not all that bad. Actually, I think some of the events that take place are symbolic to the end times. It`s quite obvious it wasn`t intended though.

Thanks Orenji, Kae, and Tom for helpin me out. ^_^

Kae-san's advice was very helpful. My mom went out tonight, and she said that from what she'd seen (
She saw all the way up to the part where Kadaj turns into Sephorith
) and everything except a few words looked fine. So she said I could watch it! So I watched the Reminising FF7, and understood it much better, although I did have a hard time keeping track a lot of the time. But it really helped, and I got just enough to understand the basic idea of what happened.
Then I watched the movie! AWE MAN IT WAS AWESOME!!! I am still freakin out about it! It's SO cool! I love how most of the time there's like...no gravity. XD

But anyway, lol. I thought it was cool, and thanks for your help! ^_^

The no gravity thing is awesome, isn`t it? Better than taking turns in a movie and killing spirits with guns?

(The second was a shot at Spirits Within, mind you).

If your parents say you can play the FF games now, I`d prefer FFIX to you overall.
The language in the actual FF7 game is much worse than the movie.

If you ever do play FF7, stay AWAY from the Honey Bee Inn.

You kind of can't if you want to progress through the storyline.

Seriously? I've played the game and I didn't understand what was happening in that lol.

And the Honey Bee Inn. Lol, one of the more 'seedy' parts of the game, but it did make me laugh.

Well, I watched it in Japanese with subtitles. I CANNOT handle dubbed things!! WAHHHHH!! The ONLY one that I like that's dubbed, is Nausica and Valley of the Wind. Everything else drives me CRAZY.

Although, even if they didn't show the cuss words, I knew when they cussed and when they didn't, cuzz I know the words in Japanese. Some of the time, they subtitled cuss words when they really didn't say em, and sometimes they subtitled em and they made em say somethin else. >_>

I have a question about it. Was Zack the wolf? Who is the wolf? I was trying really hard after watching parts twice over today to figure out who this wolf is. o.O

I love when Yuffie asks Tifa who's been using her Materia, and Tifa's like "The bad guys, naturally." XD

No, Zack was just
Cloud's buddy from when he was in Soldier, but died back then
The wolf was just a symbolic being of Cloud's lone wolf attitude and emotions.

Yeah, I knew who Zack was...but
in the end you see him in the doorway with Aeris, so I thought he was there the whole time like she was
.

Hm...the interesting. It's kinda weird, almost unessesary....I suppose. When he was lying next to Tifa on the flowerbed, how come he was there? I am having a hard time comprehending this...o_O

Ok to simply explain...
In their world of Gaea, the Lifestream (green wavy stuff) sustains life on the planet, and is made up of the idea that "when you die, you become a part of the world". So since Aeries and Zack died, they became a part of the Lifestream, so their soul basically lives in it and is apart of this. So basically when Cloud say them, he was just seeing their spirits basically, so not like they were flesh and blood or anything :/
Help now? ^^

I loved how they gave Zack a part in AC. I was like "Yay! Zack still gets a part in the film." It was heartwarming ^^

...possibly a little of topic but :D

I recall the Honey Bee Inn thing being mostly a joke. What are you all upset about Tom? Most major citys have strip clubs or places like that....*laughs* Maybe I should play the game again to see what the huge issue is. There is no nudity, nothing bad that I recall at all.

Right. I got that and all, I was just wondering if like, Zack came in a real form. I don't know why, I just figured that. o.O I get the basic idea of what you're saying, I just don't fully understand why the wolf came in only at certain times. *shrugs* But anyway.

I watched it late last night again with my sister Ranch, cuzz she hadn't seen it, and we were wondering...*thinks of weather or not to put spoiler tags*......
How come Aeris was the one who called Kadaj to come back to the Lifestream? And how come when Cloud "died", she was able to bring him back and keep him alive? Ranch asks "Is she a goddess or something?". I'm kinda curious myself as to why it's Aeris who has the ability to do that. Does it have something to do with her being an Ancient??
Reno is SO funny! XD I laugh everytime he comes on the screen! lol! One of my favorite parts of the movie is when you first see Rufus, and he's speaking to Cloud. lol! XD
Rufus is trying to tell the story of what happened to him, and Cloud's all talkin over him, then finally Cloud's like "I'm going home."
XD! lol, I love his face.
I don`t find anything horribly wrong with it, but as we recall BlueRose almost didn`t get to see the movie because of the FF series` appropriate issues.
