Star Blazers Movie

I read on Yahoo Entertainment that a live action Star Blazers movie is in the works and that Disney maybe producing it.
It was on the website this morning.
Has anyone seen it and what do they think about it?

Star Blazers is the one of the first animes my dad watched.
We have been renting the dvds from Netlix.
It will be interesting to see a live action version.

There are three seasons of Star Blazers. The first is about the Earth coming under attack from outer space. The Earth surface is so heavy damaged from radiation that the people are forced to live under the surface. A message arrives from a queen who lives on another planet that she has a way for the Earth to be repair so a Earth space force is formed and a old World War 2 Japanese battleship is converted into a spaceship to travel to the planet to get the info. The space force has one year to get to the planet and back to save the Earth.
In the later seaons the spaceship is used to to take the battle to the planets that attacked Earth. The ship has a main gun which uses most of the ship's power to blast anything in its path. It could blast a planet into pieces with one shot.

The rush to the first English language live action adaptation of an anime: Speed Racer, Akira, Evangelion, Lupin, Gunnm... All of these projects have been put on hold, so will this one fair better?
