The Grand Re-Introduction

Postby Bunny » Sun Apr 02, 2006 5:25 pm

So it's been around three years since I joined this forum and as you well know, there is a world of difference in 15 and 18. (If you don't know you can bet you'll know a little more quickly than you'd like.) Thus, I thought it fitting to give myself a new introduction.

Before I even start you should know that I belong to that peculiar sect of people that you can know all your life and never be able to predict what they'll do next. You shouldn't expect to derive too much serious information about who I am from what I can squeeze into a post. ;)

For the sake of starting points, my name is Brytani. Phonetically, that's "Brittany." The troublesome spelling has made it possible for me to be called by every variation of those seven letters imaginable but a nickname that's stuck with me is Bunny. I'm told it has some pretty negative connotations but seeing as it was given to me by my mother when I was a kid because of my tendency to run with speed unheard of when there was any sign of trouble, I don't see any real reason to change it.
I'm a fan of running. I've never tried it as a sport but it's my favorite way to exercise. I can't stand treadmills. Or any kind of exercise machine for that matter. They're just not natural. Swimming ranks pretty high on my list too. Can't say I like public pools too much but I take to rivers and lakes like a duck.
I could definitely be called a nature girl. My perfect weekend getaway would be to camp out on a mountain. I'll have none of that KOA business, either. Any campground with an activity center, swimming pool, arcade, or shopping center is completely out of the question for me. Hiking is your friend.
On the other hand, I enjoy hitting big cities now and then too. I enjoy having a lot of different things to do and places to shop.
Art of nearly all types is a big interest for me. I write, draw, and act whenever possible but my job and schoolwork have been getting in the way of that recently. I've managed to lay down a concept for a story I'd really love to write but I can't guarantee I'll get too far too quickly.
Ah, yes. My job. I work at a theater as a concessions cashier which can otherwise be aptly named, "popcorn engineer." The perks are wonderful, though. I have great co-works and supervisors and on slow days, I can take a few minutes to kick back in the movie of my choice. If you want to know about a movie, I'm your girl. My favorites are: V for Vendetta, A Beautiful Mind, Phantom of the Opera, Chronicles of Narnia, Star Wars, What Dreams May Come, Braveheart, The Last Samurai, Batman Begins, Batman (the first one?) The Patriot, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Corpse Bride, Pirates of the Caribbean, and LOTR.
I love music of nearly all types. Some of my favorite artists/bands are: The Beatles, Paul Simon, Jack Johnson, The White Stripes, Matisyahu, Ben Harper, Beck, Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, Cake, Jars of Clay, and David Crowder Band. If you have any nice Christian folk rock/alternative bands to suggest, I'd be more than happy to give them a listen.

I think that gives you a pretty good overview of my interests. Any questions, feel free to ask. :)
God's grace! <3
"So David said to Michal, "It was before the LORD, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the LORD. And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor."

well umm welcome back?
You find that you have a weapon, an instrument that
will give you power over the wind and sea.
In one word, you can stop time. It is a weapon
so powerful that even God will bow
down to you and all his angels fall at your feet.
What would you do with it?

Hmmm I don't really know about the difference between 15 and 18...but that is to be expected since I have not yet been either of them lol. Oh well, I try not to concentrate on age at all...I have gotten so caught up with it in the past it was even a distraction from God. But that's another story lol.

Welcome back to CAA! I love Jars of Clay also. I just got their new 'Redemption Songs' album, and I love it. I mean I tottaly dig rocking out but it is also nice to get to hear orginal hyms sometimes. I guess the fact that I am a Southern Belle helps my love for that cd^^

As far as other Christian bands, I don't exactly know what you mean by folk, but I do know that whatever style you want Christian music has got. I mean, Christian music is litterally all I listen to(well, there is a Mozart cd in our house, but you get the point lol). There are even Christian Techno bands lol! I geuss you should check out a CCM site or something to go pillaging through the lists of bands for yourself^_~

So anyways have a great time on CAA and I hope to see ya around!

wit luv from abuv,

KOA, perhaps? It's the name of a campground chain, I guess. It's terrible. You can't walk five feet without running into people...lots of people.
It's been awhile, Icky. Glad to see your face is still brightening the crowd.

Lynx- you listened to DCB's newest album; A Collision? That is easily the top Christian band on my list just for that cd. (Not that their past albums haven't been just as great.) Those guys have some insane talent. I highly recommend it.

T4T- Redemption Songs ranks pretty high on my list as well. If you dig the gospel, try out Ben Harper and the Blind Boys of Alabama.
I really adore worship albums, but outside that, I'm not too impressed by any of the Christian bands I've heard. I fully recognize that a lot of artists are really talented and love what they do but not a lot of it is to my liking.

To define folk rock, you have to look back a little at artists like Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkle. A lot of it is acoustic, really simple but beautiful music covering a wide range of topics.

TH86- *highfive* I'm really too cheap to buy a lot of movies but I'm always at Blockbuster. And the theater is lots of fun. We just get some scary customers sometimes. LOL
