DivX for Macintosh

Postby Tarnish » Thu Mar 16, 2006 9:29 am

I apologize if this is in the wrong section.

I have some episodes of a show I'd much like to watch, but they are DivX files. I checked the official DivX website and the Mac version is rather pricey. The type they sell comes with a bunch of crap I don't want, I only want the player.

Is there a place I can get JUST the Divx player for Macintosh (free, preferably)?

Try downloading VLC Player. It'll allow you to play just about any video file... ever.

Free as the air you breath. Unless you breath like, imported air, or something.

Yes. Free.

Mac VLC will also play a lot of pesky .wmv files with codecs not supported with MacWiMP 9. There's flip4Mac, too, but VLC plays a lot of other things, not just DivX and Winmedia.

Ya gotta love VLC. (I use it for all of my anime) You aren't required to download additional codecs and whatnot because it already supports a vast majority of codecs out there

Incase you want flip4mac, its right here
