Hello. No, I'm not posting a story here today...
I'm asking for a little help.
I've decided that, maybe, just mabye, I might try to submit some of my short stories to publications. I was looking in the back of my 2003 Writer's Club (yeah, I know as of now it's slightly outdated, but I can't afford to get a 2004 guide right now)... and looking at Science Fiction and Fantasy publishers, not the book publishers but the short story publications...
I saw one that might be promising... a Christian sci-fi/fantasy publication... My current short stories, though... aren't always specifically Christian... they have heavy elements, but are things I consider secular/to be welcomed in a secular market. There are those magazines, too...
Anyway, what has kept me from submitting short stories to places for years is... Not thinking that my stories are good enough and wanting to build a base of several short stories so that if a magazine rejects one, I can send another right away, or for if I run into any place that wants one to submit several stories...
Now... I am thinking that I'm possibly good enough in my writing for this... (and I did have a story published in a small, unpaid zine once)... However, I still have the problem of worrying if any of my stories are good enough.
I would like... if anyone is willing... for people to go to the "Short Stories" section of my main website http://rhlem.net and read the stories, or, if you have read the stories there - I would like to know what are the best stories, which one(s) are your favorites, which one(s) would be most promising to submit somewhere.
I am sorry if this is advertising... this is just a favor I'm asking of those here who follow my writing - help in a serious writerly undertaking.
