It brings tears to my eyes

Is it weird that these midis (some of which I have had for like 9 years, passed down from computer to computer) that I'm currently listening to bring back such powerful memories that they cloud my emotions?

Honestly, I would have to say it's not weird. There are many songs that I can be sitting there listening to, and suddenly, this strange wave of emotion hits me. That wave is probably something similar to what I experienced when I first listened to it, or when I listened to it during something momentous in my life. So no, I understand exactly what you mean. Music is a powerful thing.

Not at all. In fact, this is something I have to be careful about, particularly with emotions that are painful. If I'm listening to a song that I liked during a time that was emotionally difficult for me, I can feel the pain all over again. But if it's something that I remember rocking out to with friends or just a song that made me feel beautiful, I'll feel that same way all over again and it sends me on a music high.
