hey guys, I'm thinking about trying to learn how to play bass, but does anyone know what are some good brands? I'm thinking about getting something used and something less than $200. But is it necessairly easier, and how much are decent new/used acoustic guitars? also, does anyone know where I can find a really good keyboard for real cheap?

check ebay, your local pawn shop, and maybe a local school with a music program. i have a friend who's had really good luck with guitars on ebay and pawn shops, and at one point my highschool was giving away their old keyboards and even an old piano just because they were getting new ones, the old ones still worked great tho.

Ibanez is a good brand... (mainly cos I've got one ;) ).

Is it easier than accoustic guitar? Probably. I can't play guitar properly, so I can't really compare.

I'll vouch for Rondo's music if you want a good guitar. http://www.rondomusic.net/

I got my guitar from them. Awesome prices, great axes. Here's some Agile, guitar brand, reviews, http://www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/Data4/Agile/

Hmm... Fender, Ibanez, ESP, LTD... I dunno those all seem pretty good. I think the later two are a bit more expensive but whatever. You are probably gonna have to spend more than 200 dollars for a good guitar though. When it comes to guitars, you get what you pay for. If I were you, I'd up your price range to like 3-500 dollars :P unless of course you manage to find a really good deal on something.

And I recommend going to a guitar store and trying the stuff out first hand rather than just buying online somewhere. Just guitar salesmen work on commission so they may try to talk you into buying something you dont want or is just crap for your money. Also dont just be willing to shell out the price its marked for. You can usually talk em down a bit.

Gibson... Gibson all the way.. If you have a couple thousand bucks to blow. I gotta agree with my brother though, Agile is pretty good brand. I really do like Gibsons, but, yeah.

yes gibso guitars rule (i gots a gibson les paul double cut) they are pretty expensive 450 i got mine for. then again my amp was more money. A mesa boogie head (1500 buck) the best money can buy but anyways for bass i would say that an ibanez is a good brand and eventually maybe u can get a tobious(sp) the gibson brand basses ^_^
