I Just Stopped Caring About Music I Think

Postby Stephen » Wed Mar 01, 2006 11:01 pm

After being together for the last few years, 4 major lable CDs, and many tours, Jacksonville natives Cold have called it quits. As some of you know, I am quite a fan of the band...and I am of course disapointed they are breaking up. The lead singer Scooter, and the Drummer Sam will be starting there own project...so hopefully thats good. But I am still sickended that Cold is no more. For every 15 crappy bands that do well on MTV...there are one or two bands like Cold. They dared use a Piano on tracks...and not every song had to be heavy. Its a shame the music world has lost them. Heck, due to there lack of MTV airtime...I bet many of you have never even heard a Cold song. It is a sad day indeed.

I heard "Stupid Girl" and liked it... the first 15 times. Then it got old.

I didn't like their other songs.

And of course its the band fault which song the radio or lable chooses to play right? I am willing to bet you have heard probably at most 4 Cold songs. Don't judge a band on only what you hear on pop 40 stations, or modern "rock" stations. There final CD A Different Kind Of Pain was probably there best album by far.

I watched MTV2 for an hour one summer afternoon and promptly concluded that democracy was a failure.

Actually, I had respect for Scooter Ward. That is, until he got mad at Terry Balsamo for joining Evanescence.

He also went off on Amy Lee for no reason whatsoever and never apologized. My feelings toward the band are indifferent, I just don't like Scooter Ward's attitude.

LOL. You should have quit while you were ahead. Now you just look silly. I happen to be a huge fan of Evanescence and Cold. He did not get mad at Terry for joining Cold...in fact, Terry posted on the Cold boards for a while and everything was cool. As far as Amy Lee, she decided it was ok for her to drag personal issues about Scooter (talk of Rehab etc) into the public eye. That was very wrong on Amy Lee's part. If your going to not like a man or his attitude, at least care enough to research what happend.

Yeah, cause I mean...if someone drags your personal life into the public eye, and you get mad about it...you should apologize. Get real.

Wow, thank you for your input. But considering you have posted that you like Hawthorne Heights, your opinion on music is worth less then nothing. ;)

You've got the wrong person. But even if I did like them, your pretty lame for making insulting remarks like that. And the smiley face isn't reasuring.

So yes, it was you. Now your just ashamed I guess. *laughs* As far as your music? Eh. The reason there are so many bands is that everyone has there own taste. I just have a certain...dislike, of people who rag on other peoples stuff. You got a taste of your own medicine. Have another wink. ;)

Wow, how much time did you spend digging up a thread thats nearly over two years old. And my music taste has changed since then, nearly half of that list I dont listen to anymore, including Hawthorne Heights. And I never stooped as low as to personally insulting you. I guess your just mad because nobody else heres likes this band, therefore you must insult everyone who disagrees. Mature.

Actually, it took me about 2 minutes. Maybe a little less.
Inkjet1987 wrote:I never stooped as low as to personally insulting you

No, you simply bashed the band the thread was based on and lied about your taste in music. I do find it funny though, that your all miffed because someone bashed your taste in music. You come on a thread, started by an obvious fan of the band...bad mouth them, then act suprised when the guy defends the band? You may find the old addage, "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" Then again, you were the one who decided to post...this.

Had I decided to personaly attack you, I would have simply called you a flamming troll or somthing. But I simply wanted to show you what you carelessly posted. But please, feel free to try to play the victim here. Its rather amusing.

I'm not "miffed" cause you bashed my taste in music, because you didn't. Like I said earlier I dont listen to most of those bands anymore therefore, they aren't my taste in music. I'm not even mad. If I was mad, I'd resort to saying things like, " Hey you suck cause you listen to cold and don't know anything about music, and your opinion on music sucks!" And you didnt defend the band, you just tried insulting me.

Well, good. I would hate to think you were mad at me. I am however going to go ahead and lock this. Why? Because if I was outside of this thread....and it was between 2 members, I would lock it. So while I would love to continue debating the point with you, thats not my job. I should not have responded to your post to begin with. But, whats done is done. I won't delete the thread, since the last thing I want to hear is another Ark cover-up story. So everyone can read the whole thread, unedited.
