Question about new chat

anyway when I click on chat now all that popps up is a white screen? what shoudl I do?

I am guessing it may be something to do with your Java Runtime Environment version being outdated or not installed.

To be certain however, send a private message to Mithrandir, I think he knows about this stuff much better.

Purple Moose had that problem, You need to change your foum skin to CAA lite. If that doesn't work check I don't know what will.

I've used it in both IE and Celtx (a firefox derivitve) and it works fine in both.

Thats it. I've been way nicer than I should have been in my dealings with you on this matter. I'm sick of it, now. I'm one of the most difficult people to tick off, and you've managed to do it. Your condesending tone and ceaseless whining have finally gone too far.

Slater, I'm going to say this as nicely as I can. If you insist on insulting me like this, I'm going to ban you from the chat permanently and start issuing strikes. Why you feel the need to badmouth my code and my judgement is completly beyond me. I've told you FIVE times that what you are saying is not true, and I've tried to reason with you. This is not true. My code is solid. Stop posting drivel like this. This is totally uncalled for. I've looked at the specs and tested it myself and the javascript version of this chat is more compatable with more browsers than the java version ever was. The only think I can figure out is that you're upset because you don't like the "color" of the lite skin, so appanetly you've decided that I'm a moron, which baffles me. Either trust me that I know what I'm talking about, or just shut up.

I don't know why you dislike me so much, but it's really beginning to grate on my nerves. Consider this your last public lart. Knock it off. I have a full time job and a life. I DONATE my time to this place. I don't get paid. There is a finite ammount of time that can be spent on CAA and I'm chosing to do things in a certain way. If you don't like it, leave. Now on to the topic at hand.

Faithfighter (and other people with the same problem): If you are using the lite skin, and the chat is not working for you, please PM me.

If you are using the non-lite skin, try switching. We're in the process of redesigning the site, and updating the non-lite skin (there's only one, btw) does not make any sense to anyone... With the possible exception of Slater who is apparently way smarter than I am when it comes to computer stuff.

I didn't say that the code wasn't solid. I just said that it wasn't compatable with any skin but the lite one and that things were going to remain that way until the new omni-skin was implemented. I never even implied that you or anyone else is a moron, so that's just a misunderstanding if you thought that.

Sheesh, had I known that you were going to explode like that, I wouldn't have posted at all. PM me next time you think I'm being offensive and I will either retract such a statement or offer an explanation as to whatever I said.

I'm sorry that you thought that I think that you're a moron or that your code is shabby, and I'm sorry if you thought that I was trying to be a nag over this, but I never once thought those things nor attempted to be a pain.
