Rozen Maiden

[Tenshi no Ai]

Anyone else watched/watching this? And yes, I know it's not licensed... yet. Although the manga just recently was.

For those who have, thoughts? I didn't know it was a Peach Pit series until the credits :/ After seeing the cute character designs for DearS... oy... :/ But this one has like no ecchi in it whatsoever, so that's a good thing! Amusing story though... it's sort of like a "fighting-using-something" anime, but if anything, almost like a mix of Digimon Tamers and Angelic Layer, but still very very far off!

I've only seen the first 3 and I'm interested in finding out more of the doll's past^^ And then there's the sequel that just came out: Traumend^^ Can't wait!

But if you like EGL and um, mysterious dolls, this is an anime with a bit of a different taste to it. Might even concider purchasing the manga in the future...

I've wanted to read/watch this series for a long time, how are the content issues so far?

can't say for the manga, but as I remember the first season was relatively clean if you look beyond the "magic dolls" as one of the core plot points.

Yeah it is clean in almost every issue. Don't think I've seen swearing yet, the worst sexual thing that happened was the Jun checked up Shinku's dress to look at her frilly layers under her dress and saying "I knew she'd wear something like that". Don't think it was really meant to be bad, since he was checking around the "well-made doll".
And then well, if anything the show would have more of a bad religious content, since he's into things like voodoo dolls etc. and buys them (but never practices it) and well, being a EGL/EGA fashion, the "evil" doll bears symbols of upsidedown crosses on her dress. Kinda typical though.

Up to the ep I'm at now, that's the worst I've seen.

Never actually SEEN Zatch, but from just pics and different things, I guess it kind of it. ...guess I can't really say much in comparison to each other if I haven't seen it yet^^

I'm a huge fan of both Rozen Maiden and Rozen Maiden Traumend, I'm seriously hoping this series gets licensed someday because someone deserves my money for introducing me to Shinko and Suigintou, two of my all-time fav characters. I'm actually using a Suigintou wallpaper right now. She's so evil, but just so dern cute...

Anywho, this usually gets tied with Suzuka and Bleach for being the weekly series that I look forward to most.

Rozen Maiden! lol, i'm glad others have watched and enjoyed.

I watched the first episode because it sounded unique...and the art is gorgeous! But oddly enough, even with the eccentric plot, the characters are very endearing and show is an odd mixture of comedy and drama. Quite good. I'd also mention the music...it's gorgeous!!

I'm about 4 episodes into Traumend and it seems pretty good too.

As to someone who mentioned content, yea there's very little. A bit of minor language(**** is all i remember but it's possible there were single instances of others) and if you're VERY picky you might see something odd about the way the dolls and Jinku(the boy) interact. that's stretching it though.

It's a great show.

So I just watched the last ep of Traumend and I have a q about it... [spoiler] Ok, they said somethign about how Souseiseki and Hina Ichigo couldn't be brought back or something? As it shows Lapise and Barasuisho in a realm with their Roze Mysticas, I don't see why they couldn't get their's back, but Kanaria, Suigintou and Suiseseki did. :/ Guessing Shinku has to go in there and get them back still? But, I mean, Hina Ichigo lost her powers since the Alice Game started and Souseiseki was the first one to "die"... but the others will "killed" too :/ Hmmm can anyone explain this one? [/spoiler]

I love Rozen Maiden! The charaters are so cool! I have a pullip doll of Shinku! She soooo cute! I can't wait till the dvds come out to the US!

Ah,

[spoiler]Hina and Souseiseki were the only ones defeated by legitimate Rozen dolls. The others were beaten by Bara, thus were not legitimately removed from the Alice game. As an aside, Hina Ichigo's last moments make me cry every time I watch it.[/spoiler]


And for the record, both seasons are now licensed. Looking forward to DVD goodness!
