Petshop of Horrors.

And, I plan to read the Trigun manga as it comes out in English. I think I'm getting the first volume as a Christmas present. After that... well, I want it all.

I tend to read the manga after watching the series. Trying to get away from that. It kinda ruins the story.

Anywho...

This happened in reverse to me The FLCL manga made me want to see the anime. But the anime is a whole alot better than the manga but the manga is totally different from the anime.

Hmm... The manga is so rediculously different... Not all manga to anime adaptations are that off...

I'd say

Pokemon (I bought 6 of them when the manga debuted here)
Sailormoon (I bought 3 issues and a TPB)
Nadesico
Kodocha

and manga that made me want to watch the anime:

Evangelion
Marmalade Boy
Bubblegum Crisis

BTW, little trivia... Marmalade came from the Greek for Honey and Apple, but it's actually made of oranges... How did people get apples from oranges?

Several:

- Rurouni Kenshin
- Excel Saga
- Onnegai Teacher
- Trigun
- Pilot Candidate

And just for a twist, the Full Metal Panic manga made me want to watch the anime.

Boku mo!! Since I can't find out what Akito's deep secret is from the anime, I guess it'll have to be in print. *saves pennies*

And I will be buying the final Ranma manga when Viz finally finishes releasing them all, since that's the one where they get married ... sort of.

The only anime series that made me want to read the manga was Berserk, because the anime ends with a maddening cliffhanger (it was never finished). I still haven't, but I probably will at some point.

On the subject of "Very Different," the first manga I bought was Lupin III. I liked Miyazaki's Castle of Caligostro, so I figured I'd get the manga. I really can't recommend this one on CAA.

I'm getting the Kenshin manga tomorrow, most likely. I've got the first season (Eps. 1-27) on DVD, and I want the rest...they said the Jinchuu Arc hadn't been animated, but what's the third season of Kenshin then? Second season is Legends of Kyoto, where they fight
Shishio
. I'm also going to get a few anime dvds...I'll check out Grave of the Fireflies, Fruits Basket, and another one I saw mentioned....

Mobile Suit Gundam really got me interested in the manga, Mobile Suit Gundam 0079. It's pretty much the retelling of the t.v. series.

Manga ish good stuff. Anime that made me read the manga....Kenshin, Evangelion, Yu Yu Hakusho...and I think that's it.

I read manga a LOOOT more than I watch anime. I mean, some manga is only 8 bucks a pop now, as opposed to 25 bucks for a DVD that only has like 2-4 episodes on it.
