As some of you probably know, there are many xbox 360 units installed at walmarts across the country. If you would like to find one near you, her is a nice website that will show you! :D

I got a chance to play one, yesterday. My thoughts:

I must say, the console unit looks far better in person and the controller is a little more comfortable then the S-controller. However, the controller did feel cheap, but that's probably because you can't actually hold the controller and get a good feeling on its weight.

As for the games, the only one (playable) that really caught my eye was Call of Duty 2. I wasn't expecting to be impressed by the graphics, seeing how it is a port of a PC game, but I was really impressed by the smooth frame rate. -And the controllers were more fluid and responsive than those Medal of Honor console games, but I’m not sold because I am still a keyboard and mouse person. Hmmm…. Speaking of keyboard and mouse… I recall hearing something about one released for the X-box when Halo 2 came out. Supposedly, it worked pretty well. If I can get one of those set-ups for the X-box 360 to replace my soon to be aged PC (DARN YOU PCI EXPRESS!), I’m sold on the system.

Anyways, as for the rest, I was kinda' disappointed not to see Perfect Dark Zero (looked pretty cool from the X05 videos), but it makes sense why it wasn't present (rated M, made by Rare and unconfirmed for initial launch).

How can you not expect to be impressed by 360 graphics? I see where you're coming from, considering it's a port, but it's a funny statement considering the much-lauded power of the console in question.

No 360s in the heart of MO, unfortunately. Grumble grumble.

There *is* one in town! Surprise, surprise! I played Call of Duty for a bit, and wasn't impressed. Bleh, bleh, bleh. Looks like everything else.

Well you must really be jaded then because the Call of Duty series is the best WWII FPS's out there.

I just came back from playing Call of Duty at Wal-mart... honestly, the 360 doesn't impress me one bit. Sorry, M$ fans, but they'll have to do better than that to peel my gaming soul away from Sony.

I played king kong at the store. Looked good but I still saw some jaggedy edges. On a side note I saw Call of Duty 2 and it did look very good. Must try it soon....

I played some call of duty 2.

I was more amazed than I expected to be. Mostly because I LOVE high framerates.

But, I'd like to see how far the graphics will evolve over the XBox360's lifetime.

EDIT: I gotta be honest... I set my standards REALLY low while playing...
had enough.

Sure, but it looks out of place on the infinitely hyped 360.

I saw one a couple of days ago. Didn't have time to really check it out, but what I saw graphically actually impressed me more than I expected. I still ain't ponying the cash any time soon though.

Saw it in action at the Wal-Mart and Macon and was surprised to find one in my home town of Milledgeville (thought it wasn't working; lazy bums...).

Eh, it was pretty, I suppose. Still, I don't plan on getting one any time soon (Revo!).

OK, had a couple of chances at it now, and in all honesty, I still ain't impressed. Yes the games look really pretty, but I don't see any massive improvements in the gameplay. Granted this is from five minutes twiddling around while looking up a 45 degree angle, but still. I shall continue to await the bottom falling out of the used Xbox market.
