Hello

Postby Mugendai » Tue Oct 11, 2005 10:00 am

Hello everyone, my name is Mugendai. For those unaware, Mugendai is japanese for 'Infinity'. I found the link for this forum on another forum I frequent.
Now, before I continue, let me say this: I am not christian. Yes, thats right. I am not christian. Im atheist (Or agnostic, whatever). No, Im not evil. I have very good reasons for what I believe... But anyway, Im here for the anime and I also find this place and its members... very intriguing. I dont know why, but I do. Im not here to cause problems.

So what do you say, will I be shunned away and cursed or welcomed with open arms?

I find them intriguing as well. Those crazy buggers, I could watch them for hours ;)! Most people here are Christian but we've seen in the past that if you play by the rules you can have fun here no matter what your creed, and maybe learn a few things, too. May this be the first of many happy postings.

Ah, good to know my beliefs wont (for the most part, anyway.) create a problem with my stay in these forums.

Yes, it can be done! But, do be sure to read the rules as some of the posting restrictions are a little unusual as far as internet forums go. Also, beware the DND. If you want to talk about any of those titles, or theological or political matters, go ahead and private message me. Communication is goooood~!

So, um, what kind of anime are you into?

Depends really. Dont have a prefered type... Though I do find I dont like most of the ' kid gets animal-thing and they must fight other kids with animal-things and to become a king or champion thing. ' Other than that, dont really have many preferences.

Other than you know, it being good. (Full metal alchemist would have to be my favorite at the moment.)

EDIT: Ah yes, and I already read the DND. Never seen any of those anime's, so dont have to worry.

EDIT 2: Whats the point of the ' Our stance on: ' section, anyway?

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of that either. I just can't identify with it. The most exotic pet I had as a kid was a dog and I didn't fight other kids with dogs while roaming the countryside for days unattended. That would be sick! I kid, I kid. Nothing wrong with a little fantasy monster battling.

As for the "Our stance on" section, I speculate that it serves two purposes. One, as with most philosophies, there is a great deal of variance within Christianity, so much that two people who share the label might still find a number of things on which they violently disagree. Though these stances are by no means mandatory thinking for moderators or members they do reflect the "flavor" of the boards and the kind of attitudes they wish to cultivate.

Also, CAA is a message board, but it is also a ministry. These things are written here to inform those wishing to learn about the Christian faith. Note that I had no part in the creation of the rules or stances; these are only my guesses as to why things are the way they are. But in any case, I have found that the circumstances here have created a uniquely hospitable forum, as I hope you have been finding for yourself.

Welcome! Hope you enjoy the sites and the sounds of CAA... wait a minute, sounds? Do we even have sound around here? And if we do, am I the only one who can't hear them? And if I can't hear them, does that mean I've gone blind?

Something doesn't smell right...

Anyhow, enjoy CAA!
But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith-- that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
