Well, if Oprah answers my letter and lets me have a say in who the guests are, yeah. She does.

Some questions:

(1) What are you currently reading?
(2) Know any good jokes?
(3) Would you watch the movie Seven Samurai
(4) What's your oppinion on foreign movies in general?

bigsleepj wrote:(1) What are you currently reading?

I think it's called "The Sapphire Rose." No, it's not a trashy romance novel. It's the third book in a trilogy by David Eddings. It's decent, but by far not as good as his Belgariad series.

(2) Know any good jokes?

I suppose that depends on your definition of 'good.' :)

So this termite walks into a bar and says, "Where's the bar tender?"

(3) Would you watch the movie Seven Samurai

Probably, given the opportunity. I like action flicks, and from the reviews I've just read, this is supposed to be a great film, not just your average testosterone-overloaded hack-and-slash.

(4) What's your oppinion on foreign movies in general?

I haven't seen very many. However, it doesn't take much to surpass Hollywood's notion of a great film these days. :shake:

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! I find jokes like that funny! :D

Well, Seven Samurai is one of my all-time favourite movies. But it has aged a lot (both the quality of most prints and the general style). But it has some of the most memorable and best scenes ever filmed. Its more character than spectacle driven. I love the movie but its very long (some cuts near 3 and a half hours). It is generally "the longest cut is the best".

Okay since it's been a while and you've had time to rest your weary brain, I have a few new questions for you.

If the water was warm enough and there was no on earound, would you ever consider going skinny dipping?

When I take over the world, what will your reaction be?

And since you're not up on current music, who are some of your favorite old bands/artists?

Rachel wrote:If the water was warm enough and there was no one around, would you ever consider going skinny dipping?

HECK YEAH!!! ...but only if I were certain there would still be no one around later.

When I take over the world, what will your reaction be?

"I knew this day would come. Well, I guess things are about to get a whole lot weirder...."

And since you're not up on current music, who are some of your favorite old bands/artists?

Oh, let's see... some of these are not necessarily OLD; I just don't listen to pop radio.
Jars of Clay, Sixpence None the Richer, Caedmon's Call, Tracy Chapman, Creed, Seven Day Jesus, Five O'Clock People, Yoko Kanno, The Beatles, Billie Holiday, PFR, Edie Brickell, Enya, Eric Clapton, Iona, Fleming & John, Jennifer Knapp, Innovators, Ottmar Liebert, Phil Keaggy, Sting, U2, Third Day, the .hack//SIGN soundtrack.... lotsa stuff. :)

So what's your favorite Creed song?

I like the lyrics to "Faceless Man," and the music to "Are You Ready?" and "Inside Us All." I also like "Higher" quite a bit.

Are you a Creed fan, Rachel?

Yes! I was really upset when a rock fell on my Human Clay cd and broke it. I had to go into therapy.
