I hope I'm doing this right, and it's in the right section. I'm kinda new here!
Hello! My name is Joshua, but my friends call me Khaki, and some of my more stranger friends call me "Socks". The possible reason is that I have this strange (almost freaky) appreciation for...socks! I think it started with Izzy's green socks from Digimon season one, but your guess is as good as mine!
Anyway, because my live journal offers the best description of me (after all, I wrote it myself!) I'll use bits and pieces here so you can get a good idea of the person I am, if that's cool.
My name is Josh and I am an otaku...I am also a Trekkie and I'm also a black 20-year-old christian man from southern Louisiana (NOT New Orleans!). I'm all of these things, and then some. I'm not what you would call your "textbook black dude". I enjoy eating sushi: raw and non-raw. I'm probably the biggest Star Trek fan on my block, and when it comes to anime, I'm as close to an otaku as you can get. I never been on a date. I really don't like sports. I like to sit down with a good book on my porch swing. I surf the web fluently and don't have not one lick of porn on my PC, or in my room for that matter. (I never did see the rhyme or reason for porn: two people doing the nasty...so what?) I'm a fanfiction writer, reader and reviewer.
I love driving in my car! I have a 1993 Acura Legend which I inerited from my sister who passed away a year ago. She taught me how to drive in that very same car, and I got my license in that car a few months after she passed...on her Birthday, in fact! I know she's riding with me in the car, and I feel her presence every day.
I’m probably the most laid back person in my family when it comes to some things. Especially when it comes to relationships. I have a family that thinks everyone should have a girlfriend by 15, be out of the house by 18, have a kid by 22, and get married before you hit thirty. I’m probably the only one who thinks that these things take time. I have yet to have a girlfriend (I have girls that are friends, but not girlfriends), I’m still living in my parents house (yet I am bringing in a paycheck). I’m still a virgin and marriage is not in the warehouse where a box is that contains a box that contains a box of cards. I’m happy with how things are going in my life, and I have no intention of speeding myself through it just because a group of people wants me to.
Well, I think I typed enough! I know this was only supposed to be a brief introduction, but when I get started, I can't stop! I look forward to making a lot of friends, discovering more about myself and my spiratuality, and most of all, having a lot of fun!
