Bot at blogs?

Postby Mave » Fri Sep 09, 2005 1:25 pm

Umm.....I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this:

1) Can bots mess around with blogs?
2) If so, what can you do to get rid of 'em?

Very few ppl are aware of my blog so I doubt the spam-like posts are authentic.

Bots can mess with blogs and if you have a standard blogging host, there isn't much you can do about it short of disabling comments or moderating them after the fact. If you run your own blogging server/software, you could modify it to make it unfriendly to bots, but this is a common plague on many of the blogging sites.

Phew, glad to hear it's not uncommon. For a sec, I thought some sick stalker was spamming my blog. Thanks Shooby! That was very helpful.
