About me:

Postby Azier the Swordsman » Thu Nov 27, 2003 3:45 pm

I've been here a while, so I guess I'll post my bio.

I'm 16, about to be 17, and I live in Texas. My hobbies are, in no particular order, anime, video games, movies, and books. I have a job at a grocery store as a sacker. I hope to someday have a job as a Japanese to English translator. I am currently in the middle of learning the language right now, and I hope to learn one language per year. Originally, I wanted to be a game designer, but I'm going to need a high paying job to start out with when I get out on my own, and translating seems to fit the bill. Working at a grocery store is NOT going to pay the price of tea in China. Perhaps someday, I'll study the programming languages and realize my original dream. My dad is the pastor of a small church called the Tree of Life Family Fellowship. We started in our home, graduated to the Holiday Inn, eventually started renting a small building, then finally got our very own place in a strip center. Unfortunately, rent on the building got too high, so we asked to be let out of our lease. Currently, we are sharing a building with a Spanish church, eventually, once we save up enough money, we are going to build our very own permanent building. God has been growing our church slowly, but surely. We have just started setting up a praise and worship team, (consisting of three people including my dad and my mom, but hey, it's a start) and began home groups a few weeks ago. It's been an interesting experience getting a behind the scenes look at how a church is run. Anyways, that's all I can thank of right now.

Concerning relationships: I have never dated, never been anything other than friend's with girls. I don't go around searching for 'the one'. I believe when it's the right time, God will send the right one to me. If I ever do get into a serious relationship, I will have to have already been friends with the girl for a period of time, that we will know enough about each other's character before deciding to begin a relationship. Basically, my rule of thumb is, never date anyone I wouldn't seriously consider marrying someday. Even then, the relationship period would be a time of deciding if the relationship should be carried to the next level (marriage). God hasn't sent 'the one' to me yet, but I will wait. No matter how long. But I believe he still wants to work my character flaws out of me.(Impatience, my temper, my pridefulness) After all, when I finally do meet the perfect one, I want to be as close to perfect as I can possibly be. Plus, my personal freedom at the moment has allowed me to focus more on my goals, which I would not have enough time for were I in a serious relationship at the moment. Not to mention all the heartbreak I've probably avoided. So, even though I'm single, I'm satisfied, and quite frankly, if God chooses for me to be single all my life, I wouldn't mind. I'm quite content with what I have right now.

Usually I stick around a new forum and get to know everybody first before formally introducing myself. I like to decide if I plan to stay or not.

I am convinced that many men who preach the gospel and love the Lord are really misunderstood. People make a “profession,â€

I'm glad I finally read your bio Chris. I totally agree with what you said about relationships. I felt the same way before I was led to my husband at age 26. God will let you know without a doubt when the one He has for you shows up.

God bless and welcome to CAA.^-^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

It's nice to meet you.

I agree with you on relationships, and I can attest to the fact that it is better to avoid the heartbreak of directionless dating. Unfortunately, I didn't :(
