Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory

Postby Slater » Fri Nov 19, 2004 3:57 pm

Is there anyone out there who plays RtCW: ET? It is a 100% free, standalone multiplayer game. They were gonna make it an add-on for Return to Castle Wolfenstein, but... they gave up. Thus they released what they had done to the public. Don't let the uncompleteness idea confuse you; it's not like this game has missing textures or sounds or anything. It is absolutely wonderful. I've been playing it for over a year now, and there is never a dull moment. Playing head to head against human players... Thousands upon thousands I have fought. And while I consider myself a pro (not the best am I!), there is still much to be learned. I give this game a 10/10 rating.

http://enemy-territory.4players.de:1041/ for the game and patch.

I've had it for a while and I am extremely grateful that the developers decided to release a Linux client as well. It's one of the few games I can play. I'm actually beginning to be able to kill things with my MP40 rather than just call airstrikes all the time. That's progress.

ok guyz. get the program All Seeing Eye. Using this program to connect to servers will allow us to find eachother! there's kinda a buddy list where you add people and can see if they're playing or not.

BTW, anyone want me to write a strategy guide for the 6 original levels in WolfET?

I was playing return to castle wolfenstein about a month ago....

then after I realized that there were undead and zombie creatures... i skipped every one of those levels...

then i beat it (mass cheating lol) an uninstalled it because it took up too much space (for me anyway)

I'm pretty much always on Beginner's Park 3-3 (http://www.bpark3.com) because, well I'm a beginner and I suck at this game right now.

Beginner's Park has always been fun. They do some really wacky stuff that makes the game really interesting. One time they put Timescale to like 2 or 3 and everything was insane.

This coming from the guy who played through Half Life 2 twice?

Quick question, is our XP saved from server to server?
and I use Xfire too Image

no. XP is saved as so...
1. if XP save is disabled (as is default), your XP resets every campaign. Campaigns are typically either 3 or 6 maps long.
2. if XP save is on, then your XP will be saved as long as you remain on the server. It transfers over from campaign to campaign. If you disconnect and do not reconnect by the time a new campaign starts, your XP will be erased.
