Stryper Is Back!!!

Postby realdeal » Tue Aug 16, 2005 1:15 pm

Some of you may be too young to know this band, but has anyone ever heard of Stryper? Incase you have not, they are one of the first openly Christian bands that came out in the early 80s. They came out in a time when everything was "sex, drugs, rock n'roll!" and they made it possible for it to be "Jesus, Salvation, rock n'roll!"

Anyway, the band has been apart for more than 12 years since they last recorded an album. In 2003, the band got back together for a Reunion Tour that rocked the nation.

And today, Stryper has release their new album entitled "Reborn". The title track deals with scripture from John chapter 3 about how no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born again.

(In case you are wondering why I wrote all this is because I try to find really good Christian bands and try to get their music out there to non-Christians).

If you like 80s Heavy Metal bands like Guns N'Roses, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Judas Priest then you will definately love Stryper!! You can find out more about them at stryper.com

Thank you and God bless...

I have never really liked Stryper's music all that much but I respect them for what they're for, and I think it's awesome that they got back together! ^^

What...they ditched the long, glittery hair and spandex?

Rockin for the one who is the rock!

It'll be interesting to hear a little more about where they're at these days.

Yes, I'm very interested in getting that cd. My eyes almost bugged out when I saw they had a new one out. Wow, it's been a long while!

And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!

I remember them. Did 3 Christian albums, then tried to go mainstream and bombed out. I guess they had a crisis for awhile. Glad to see they're getting back together.

I especially remember the hatred the band received in the heavy metal music mags back in the 80's... simply because they were Christian. I don't know if the culture has gotten more tolerant of Christians now, but back then, it was sheer loathing...

I wonder somtimes why we even try to have a music board. Nobody ever seems to use it. Moved to the right board.

Healing hands of God have mercy on our unclean souls
once again. Jesus Christ, Light of the World, burning
bright within our hearts forever. Freedom means love
without condition, without beginning or an end. Here's
my heart, let it be forever Yours, only You can make
every new day seem so new.

A splitting brow forced by the thorns
His face is writhing with the pain yet it's comforting to me
