Jimmy Page as we all know was an excellent guitarist. But I am beginning to believe for all the wrong reasons.

I, unlike some may, do not really peer into the lives of my favorite musicians. But it has come to my attention that Jimmy Page spent a lot of time practicing dark arts and black magic to become a better guitar player.

Now people at my job are saying they're going to start studying the dark arts to improve their guitar playing skills.

This scares me, and makes me feel a tiny bit odd listening to Led Zepplin now. Does anyone have anything to say about this?

That makes me more worried about the people at your job, actually...

(At their peak, Zepplin never did any interviews, so theire are a LOT of myths about their personal lives. One needs to proceed with caution in assuming anything)

Jimmy Page did get involved into some very strange stuff after Zeppelin came out with their third album and took a "sabbatical" of sorts to Eastern India. After returning to begin work on their new album, Jimmy Page bought the house that originally belonge to the infamous Mr. Aleister Crowley, the creator of the Satanic Bible. It is passed on as legend that Jimmy and the rest of Zeppelin wrote all of "Stairway To Heaven" (their biggest hit song) in 11 minutes after being inspired by a passage in the Satanic Bible found in Mr. Crowely's house. After Stairway became such a large hit, Zeppelin cut themselves off from the media entirely for about 6 months. When they came back, they were the stoned and strange Zeppelin that the world has come to know and love.

Either way, I'm still horrified the people I work with are attempting this. And there is no reasoning with these guys. As the only guy there who doesnt do drugs and isnt constantly attempting to get laid they don't take the things I say very seriously.

You are really only accountable for yourself. If you have told them its wrong, don't worry about it. You cannot spend all your time worrying about other peoples spritual health. As far as bands go, I am not silly enough to think I know anything about a band based on the trash the media spouts out. Since none of us know the band members personaly, we really don't know much. Let them live there lives.

OH i wasnt trying to heckle them It was just something I've heard. Like I said, i dont really spend much time researching the music I listen to. I'm pretty gullible to, so when I hear something I get a little shifty. It wouldnt concern me as much if they werent all going- hurrah lets get into black magic!
