Final Fantasy 10-2 help

Postby heero yuy 95 » Wed Jul 27, 2005 9:17 pm

Hey, everybody, i just recently bought Final Fantasy 10-2 and have a question. I am at the part where the Gullwings have stolen the "awesome sphere", but then they decide to give it back, the two factions they can give it back to are either New Yevon or the Youth League. which faction is the best to give it back to? a friend told that this was an important part of the game.

Yeah, kind of important. You can only get a 100% completion rate the first time through if you pick Youth League. And there's some other stuff too that I can't remember on account of I've tried to forget as much as possible from that game. However, I DO remember that you can't get 100% if you give it to New Yevon.

In my opinion the youth league are alot cooler.
It depends on taste. getting 100% your first try isn't recommended.
I suggest enjoying the game the first time and worry about the rest later.
Right now I'm stuck in the Farplane Heart.
There is some music I need to play but the thing won't activate (the second one) I ran north and fought this crazy monster and then I went back and I couldn't get through.
any suggestions?

heero - you probably won't get 100% in the game anyway - especially without the guide book. 100% is extremely difficult to achieve. So give it to whomever you want to give it to. Just enjoy the story as it unfolds. If you want to try to get the 100%, the give it to the Youth League and finde a good FAQ online to help you through the rest. BTW - if you have skipped any conversations by hitting the X button with out letting the person finish speaking, you've already blown the 100%.

Ky - If you've walked into the force field and fought the really tough monster, then you no longer need to put in the tones. Beating the monster will also open the portal. You can go right on to the next area.

Okay, thanks, guys. actually, i do have a guide in one of my Tips n' Tricks magazines. but the first time through, I'm just going to enjoy the game. I'll play it through a second time with new game+, then I'll get 100%. Personally, I think new yevon is cooler than the youth League. i mean, New Yevon uses guns! And they live in that cool city, I believe it is called Bevelle.

yeah but the Youth League has a cool symbol and they have Beclem who is a Seifer wannabe.
Nooj is cool too.

As for the force field it's weird this like little search-bot thing shoots a red line into the ground and zaps me I haven't been able to get anywhere. Oh well :)

Oh, yeah, that little trick. I know that one, too. Run along the edge of the path to the right of the screen. Try to stay as close to the edge as you can. The bot will fire at you, but Yuna will dodge and you'll be able to continue on.

Yeah, I agree with not trying to get 100% of the game first time through. If you don't blast through, pay attention, and are willing to do lots of backtracking, you can get in the 90% range, which gives you an ... acceptable ending. Then get a guide and beat the snot out of it. Very fun. ^^

I'm still playing through X-2 but there's no way I'm trying for 100% now!

I have a question too though...

I'm at the VERY end pretty much, and they ask me to pick either Djose, or the 2 other temples to go to for the final bit. I picked Djose first, but I got stuck there! Seriously, I couldn't find my way out! There was some hologram but it didn't seem to help me get anywhere (haven't found any helpful walkthroughs for this part either...) But what's the easiest temple to pick? I think I'm pretty under leveled too... either way don't think I'll play the game till I finish the .hack...qualigy?

Oh ... the Djose Temple route had a tricky puzzle in it. See if this helps:

You probably went to the very end and there was no place to go. Turn around and go back until you find a place on the path that you can jump off the path to a strip. There's a floating rock next to it, look at it and you'll see more rocks. You have to push around the rocks to make a path for you, that's the puzzle.

If you need help with it, let me know. Just a warning, after you solve the puzzle, get ready for a boss battle.

Did anyone else hate the sphere break mini game? Normally I *love* the FF card games, but this one was just ... not fun. I think they made up for it with the Gauntlet game. Now *that* minigame was a blast. ^^

*copies onto Notepad for future reference when I start up the game again*
I just wanna beat the stupid thing and get it over with now >_< Although I'll probably pick a different temple before I attempt Djose. Maybe if I get stuck/annoyed with .hack I'll try it... thanks for the tip!

Going to http://www.gamefaqs.com and check their walkthrough sections really helped me make it through this game since I didn't have the official strategy guide. You should be able to find anything you need to know in the game. Hope that helps. ;)

Just a note: If you go down all of the paths in the order they are listed on Brother's menu, then you will recieve the Megeddon dresssphere, which is pretty cool.

I really didn't like any of the mini-games in this one or in FFX. Sphere Break was my favorite of them, though. Blitzball is my least favorite. I didn't play it at all.

I liked sphere break and gunner's gauntlet. The math part of sphere break was fun to me.

I finished X-2 with a 99% completed. That made me so mad when I found out that I missed something. -_-' But anyways, I'm not going through it again to get that last percent.
Personally I would recommend not trying to get 100% the first time through. That way, you don't get disappointed like I did. ^_^
