Okay, I know this great series has been mentioned in other threads, but I was surprised to find that no specific Slayers threads existed. So who else is a fan of this (at this point I would call it classic) series?
Who is your favorite character? And which of the three seasons is your favorite?
Slayers will always hold a special place in my heart, as it is the first anime series I liked enough to actually purchase rather than rent. I have many fond memories of eagerly awaiting the next Slayers VHS tape to be released, as I was collecting the series as it was first being released in the US. Slayers played a big part in getting me into anime in the first place, and it remains one of my favorite series to this day.
My favorite characters would have to be Zelgadis and Rezo.
My favorite season is the first. Besides the personal sentimental value it holds for me, it contains both my favorite characters, and despite the animation perhaps not being as good as the second two seasons to me it captures the true essence of "Slayers," fantasy/parody.

Slayers is one of my all-time favorites and I'd venture to call it a classic anime title.
My favorite characters are definitely Zelgadis (is that the correct spelling Spiritsword, I'll follow your lead) and Lena Inverse. I also like Galray, he's so dumb and cute.
And, I think the first season was my favorite also. I haven't seen it for a couple of years. I had rented it to watch from the local anime place here.
I've never said this before, Spiritsword, but I'm a really big CCS fan like you. I just wanted to comment since you seem to have every Cardcaptor Sakura manga and anime like me. She's my fav. CLAMP character. Sorry to go off topic, just been wanting to tell you that.

Slayers is one of my favorite anime series too. ^_^ I think Zelgadis and Xelloss are my favorite characters and I really liked both the second and third season, but the second season had my favorite episode of all time, the one where Lina wanted to eat dragon quisine. That episode cracked me up. lol

Blue Elf, is that the episode where they went fishing and Zelgadis nearly drowned and they were dragging him under the boat? It's been so long since I've watched Slayers, I really need to go rent it again some time. If it is, that was a super funny one.

I've watched a few of the first episodes, thus never really got into it. Looks great though, and I've heard a lot of people rave about that series.

I love Slayers! Next is my definite favorite season. I like to watch Slayers during finals here at school, it makes no sense so I kinda veg out. I'm a total Lena fan, I'm too much like her not to be 
Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.
