Capcom has announced the fifth installment of the series:

Not much is known, but it's expected to play like a cross between RE1 remake and RE4. Possible characters that could return (this is speculation) are Chris, Billy, and Carlos. First images and a leaked trailer suggest that the zombies will be more like in 28 Days Later and Dawn of the Dead Remake.

Nah not a chance. Not just when they've finally revitalized the series with an original RE. They're gonna keep up that formula for some time to come guranteed. Anyway RE5 sounds cool as long as it keeps to RE4's format with some new stuff I'm sure. Always thought Carlos was pretty cool too.

Heck no. The movies were very loosly based on the games. The games are a thousand times better.

Exactly who is appearing in the sequel is still not clear, but the main character from the screenshots could be Chris Redfield. It's hard to tell because of he's sporting facial hair.

I'm thrilled that the series is continuing.... Capcom seems to be doing their best at keeping it original and fleshing out good plots. And the graphics are as marvelous as ever.

Yay! RE5! Makes me want to replay RE1-through-Code Veronica. But of course I can't.
