Question: conversion

Postby Bobtheduck » Tue Nov 18, 2003 5:50 am

Anyone know how I can convert works files into word, or some other format, without losing it's formatting? I know I can't go simpler like RTF if I want to retain my justification... I want to send a story to a friend, but don't think he has works, though he probably does have an old version of MS word...

I tried to convert things within works before, it never worked...

If you are on a new mac, you could spit it out into PDF format. If not, you can always use the 'print to file' functions and let him dump the file directly to his printer. That ususally puts it in postscript format. If you want him to have EDIT control of the document, it's a bit more trickey. Have you looked on the net for freeware works-word translators?

I'm not exactly sure if this can actually help...

I use HTML for everything. Every word processor I've seen accepts it. Your break taglines get changed to paragraphs, but it works somewhat well...
