Christian MMORPG in the making.

Have a video game or or VG review? This is the place to to discuss it! We also accept discussions of board games and the like, but SHHH! Don't tell anyone, OK?

You're telling me to cool off...I wasn't the one try to point the finger earlier on you was I? Just pointing out what a simple google search could of gotten you which could have made things alot less confusing with your topic. I wasn't the first one confused about what game you were actually talking about either.

Thanks GhostPoet at least that's two people who got one point I was trying to make. I don't care how good any of these games are compared to Christian games. If they're going to sell me something period they will be competing for our money and thus in my mind they have to be compared to secular games on the market. It could be the greatest Christian game ever but if it's still only half as good as a mediocre secular game in the same class it sure as heck won't be getting my money. Negative? Yeah probably but hey if they're going to compete in the market then they should expect to be judged the same as every other product out there. This goes for Christians games in general not just these two.

Thus if they really want to be taken seriously and not just some tiny niche then they have to be to standards. I know it can be done. They can make games just as good in terms of gameplay and graphics. But it just doesn't seem to me that they're trying to get to that point. Time yes but as Volt said, which I did not know myself until looking it up, using dated ammateur engines like this is a joke. And to to try and market Orion as a serious game in 06 is insane. And for Tales their forums are almost completely dead, there's sparse real info about the actual game, they have one screenshot of one model on there, blahh that's just plain bad on any level. Just doesn't seem like a serious effort to me. And this is supposed to come out in a year someone said, I just can't see that actually happening.

I wasn't the one who came blasting out of the gate, bashing everything with a giant sledgehammer. ;)

I agree with Godly Paladin. Yojimbo, he said Christian games don't get great overnight! Do you have a clue? For everything - secular movies, games, all that started off with pretty sub-par stuff. But then it improved. Its just like that for Christian games. They are far behind but will improve. Yes, obviously its great to have an awesome Christian game especially recognised by the secular market but remember the games are ultimately to bring glory to God and He will do His stuff when He deems the time is ripe.

The bottom line is this: we all have our different opinions on the CG industry and Christian Gaming in general. I think that that sort of discussion should be taken to the Christian games thread. I created this thread to see if other people were excited about a game that I thought--at the time--was new. It turns out that it's not new and that everybody has their own set opinion about it.

So I would suggest that we take our CG debate to the respective thread and let this one rest.

EDIT: Thanks, W4J.

Problem is..it takes serious developers to make a good game.
The engine...the lack of any updates...just makes this game hard to take seriously....I sense Vaporware...

Since apparently it's going to take a mod note to get this thread back on track...take Godly Paladin's suggestion and get back on topic, people. Take the rest to another thread.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.
